Please can I join?
We usually spend probably between £400-£500+ a month
Family of (usually) 5 + pets.
This month I intend to only spend £200 including everything and having a week of eating out of freezer/store cupboard too.
My month started on Saturday 27th August.
I spent £28.15 on Saturday and £4.97 today-but today's money was in the form of APG vouchers and £7 worth of scratch cards and I still have over £3 left.so I'm declaring that I've only spent £28.15 really-is that allowed or is it cheating?

Please may I join in? I have completely lost track of what I spend, I have so much food in the house I could open a shop! I seem to have lost my way with meal planning this is probably because i agreed to work full time for the last 3 months and this has effected my home organisation drastically ... I have a tesco delivery tomorrow and aim to sort a meal plan out tomorrow for the next two weeks .... I;m gonna say £500 for September just to get a handle on what I am spending, I have started buying meat from my local butcher, much better quality and value for money0

First spend of this week for me and it was £4.60 on a pack of breaded ham and the rather more frivolous popcorn, sweets and drinks as a treat for my children for a sleepover!
Going to do a bit of planning in the next few days as I've lots in.0 -

Could have been a lot more, so well done! Plus, it's nice to treat the children - they won't remember that it was only a few pounds, they'll remember that you did it. We mustn't forget to build memories while saving cash!! 😃😃 Good luck with the planning - my ch are with their dad tonight and tomorrow, so I'll be planning my September then. So much in, should be easy, bit I don't want to fall into a rut...

I've tried every type of meatballs and my daughter still reverts back to Asda smartprice... so no judging here
I have a spend of £1 on donuts from work and RTC bananas for 74p. Not sure if my staff discount came off, so i will just add the full price. I also bought a lottery ticket too, as Wednesday is a rollover, but not including that.
Also, 56p on meatballs and two loose onions in the Co-op. Will guesstimate 50p for the onions, but will change sig if necessary.
So £2.80 to start the month with.
I've just realised when someone mentioned toilet rolls that I am bulk buying mine on S&S from Amazon and should have enough til about November; but I may need to change to a yearly budget. So being as there is four months left and I'm August is complete, I will try £3,500 which for the rest of the year is approximately £1,458.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £134.25/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month. So frustrated. I started a post yesterday, and due to being busy with baby, never got round to posting it. Just finished writing it, clicked post and it failed for some reason!!! Grrr.
When I've got her down for her nap, I'll try again.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Spends:
31.64 GBP - Morrisons
23.63 GBP - Boots (Nappies, bottles, breastmilk pouches - on offer, and used a 5GBP off a 20GBP spend voucher)
13.00 GBP - JoJo Maman Bebe - Gummee Glove for teething, used topcashback
15.98 GBP - Boots - Nappies, on offer, ordered online for free store pickup, used topcashback
70.13 GBP - Morrisons - 9 GBP off a 70GBP spend, stocking up on meat etc
So, total currently up to 154.38 GBP BUT....shouldn't need to buy much more at all. Just need to top up bread, milk, maybe some salad stuff and potatoes (cos I forgot them off the order!).
Morrisons man arrived an hour early, just as DD was kicking off. Luckily DH is here, so I woke him up to look after her whilst I accepted the order.
Have managed to stick to not wasting anything yet though, so am very pleased. Andd...I made Twinks' HobNobs (with added choc chips as I had some) on Saturday and they are lush!!! Good use of the huge bag of oats I already have in the cupboard! lol
Now I'm off to make the cottage pie that I was planning to make yesterday! lolFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0 -

Managed to do the shop toddler free on Saturday so that was a winner - spent £76 but stocked up on loads and it included a number of treats that we wouldn't usually buy but which will last. so I'm now sitting at £106 however I should just need lettuce (2), milk (3), cucumber (1), gammon steaks (1 pack) chicken stock cubes (1), wheat bran (1) and eggs (2) and chicken nuggets (1 pack) oh and microwave pizzas (1 pack, maybe 2 if they are on offer) - a luxury but for OH -the rest of the month if I play it right which is a grand total of approximately £16. leaving £28 for flexibilitymissymoo81 wrote: »Hi, just a quick one, sorry not strictly on topic, but I know you lovely ladies will know.... I'm trying to budget for a family of four for £130 a month, as that's all we have. So every penny counts. I went to Aldi today to research items and forgot the bananas  Can anyone tell me how many bananas you usually get in Aldis 68p packs?
Thanks so much,
Missy
we manage a very reasonable budget (£150 for 3 full time including nappies/pullups, pet supplies etc, plus frequently 2 guests a couple of times a week) but I would say if you eat meats and have freezer space then I would do a bulk order from somewhere like musclefood or live lean. I find their meat goes much further than supermarket meats and is very tasty any you can get some really good bundles/discounts too - sorry for suggesting though if you're veggie!************************************
