  • Going to aim for £350 this month, this should be plenty.

Pet food still separate, I'm investigating how much I can save with amazons subscribe and save. I have a dog with a sensitve tummy so his food is expensive approx £55 a bag most places amazon is the cheapest place I can find it, if I can subscribe to 5 things monthly I'll get 15% off worth looking into for me.

Online meat/protein bar order comes to £105.50 this month with a £14.08 spend at coop this morning on a few quick bits before work not had time for a shop yet. Bought a meal deal, got a fly in my pasta salad now £10 up with a voucher on it's way to me. This has just reinforced why I make my own lunch.

    £109.58/£350
    JAN - £208.56/£250 NSD-8
    FEB - £121.51/£200 NSD- 1
    Penny a day challenge #001: £200.79/£667.95

I had my first shopping delivery for the month from Tesco. I have updated my signature accordingly and I am looking forward to lots of lovely healthy meals this week. I am dieting yet again so have lots of fruit and veg in the house. Lots of packed lunch stuff is on offer for the next couple of weeks so I will be stocking up a bit although only 1 daughter takes a packed lunch now so I won't get loads.

Can't believe it's September tomorrow, I am looking forward to a change in the weather and the prospect of casseroles and soups on the menu. I will be looking at the first page of this challenge for new recipes as I am in the mood to do some cooking and baking. Just got to wait for my kitchen to cool down a bit before I start as it's a real suntrap.
  • Reporting a NSD to start off this month. Plan to do shop on Sunday so hopefully I'll have 3 more non-spend days!!! :j
    February Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00
    NST no. NSD 4/15
  • First spends of September came to £7.55. Had a mad moment and bought an avocado in M&S for £2, it was very nice, but needs to be for that price. Normally buy a large bowl of them for £1 - oh well.

I've just done our meat order for the month, £130.91 and we'll be going out tomorrow to pick up bits and pieces, then hopefully several NSDs in a row! ;)

Need to do a signature thingy :D

2 pesky Sains shops have snuck their way in, both just little bits and no need for them!!! £13.40 yesterday and £4.60 today, bringing our total to £21.37
Yesterday was just poor planning and laziness, mixed with late home from work when we needed to go shopping. Other than milk and butter most of that 13.40 was made up of microwaveable indian for two...

Very healthy chip butties for tea tonight, with chicken breasts and coleslaw. HM bread so all in all not a very expensive meal!

NSD today but shopping day tomorrow providing the s/o transfers my food money into the food a/c before I go. Perhaps I had better take the main a/c card with me as well. I know all the money is in today as it's the last day of the month (pay day) as I checked but all the d/ds s/o etc don't go out until the first and I have already transferred all the money not spent in August into savings. What a plonker.
All that clutter used to be money

£33.61 down - a quick supermarket top-up because I was out this afternoon & evening & wanted things to be there for whoever stepped into my shoes to cook the tea, and a trip to the Oriental Grocers, who still didn't have everything on my list, so I'm off the hook on that one until the end of the month, when DS3 returns to uni over there.

I may need to run to the wholesalers and the farm shop tomorrow, as we're almost out of one or two essentials and I'm mega-busy with the County Show this weekend. It'd be sod's law that we'd run out altogether while I'm away & someone else would bust my budget by buying them at W8rose!

Hi thanks for all the banana number replies! Very much appreciated. Can anyone tell em how to change a title on a thread, I've got a thread, but it's leaning away from the title so wanted to change it? Many thanks.
  • All systems go :-)
Anticipating a NSD today. The fridge is full, meals are roughly planned for the rest of the week:
Thurs - baked potato and cheese for lunch, pasta and pesto for dinner
Fri - soup for lunch - take away curry (£6 tiffins feed 2!)
no plans after that but I'm hoping to find some cheap fish somewhere for a roast on sunday.
