Had to go out for a present today so got a few bits whilst we were out. Note to self, try not to take Mr tc grocery shopping, he has no willpower and no idea about budgeting!
Spent 11.71 (£7.90 of which would not have been spent had me tc not 'helped'). Lol.
So now my grocery figure stands at £53.02/£200.00

  • it would have been another NSD but for a birthday party 20 miles away so that was £10 on a present and £14 on food and coffee.
the present came out of the misc budget and the food and coffee came out of the fun budget so the grocery budget is still intact.
  • No NSDs so far this month and total of spends so far £33.36. Have been feeding an extra adult for three days but have tried to keep within budget. Sunday will be big shop and meal plan day- then I hope to have several NSDs next week when back at work. Made my own bread for the last few days and a massive slow cooked mince for shepherd's pie today using all my fridge leftovers. This is very satisfying!

I needed milk in, so got that this morning at tesco only got 4 pints because I signed up for the shopitize & checkoutsmart apps that was mentioned a few pages back by buzzyzoe, so thank you to her... anyway I bought 4 pints as I got 50p back on that... very easy to do :)

I came home did a freezer inventory and food plan, doing a store cupboard challenge on a facebook page - so I did a list and went to Asda and then Tesco, for the later I had a £3 off if you spend £20 that expires Sunday, so I thought I may as well use that... while there I bought some belvita soft biscuit that were on clearance (not yellow sticker) to 70p, they have a 60p cashback on one of the apps, reduced items don't work but as this wasn't actually a reduced one, I through I'd try, it worked so cost me 10p :) I've made 1.10 so far, and it's easy.

Going to start to actually do my shopping online as after the 12th I don't have access to car (my ex is moving out :j) - Asda currently have half price on any time delivery so going to buy that for the year, and use the £1 tesco slots.

Total spend today was 35.87 but will not need anything until Tuesday / Wednesday... so hoping for at least the next two days as NSD

I'm up to £37/250 in 2 days which is not good but has included a lovely meal out and lots if YS bargains so not all bad.

Tomorrow needs to be a cooking day so I can prep stuff for school lunches etc next week.

If I make hm sausage rolls and freeze them, can I defrost and put in lunch boxes without heating again? Thanks.

Matody - Topcashback are currently offering £6.06 cashbavk for signing up for the anytime delivery for 12 months. Worth doing if you're already going to sign up anyway :)

ETA: 2 NSD's for me. Need to order birthday card for friend in oz. Left it way too late to post. Will probably still be late anyway. Oh well.

  • I've had a quick look over last week while I plan my shopping for the coming week, I spent £8.46 last week, 60p of that was on unnecessary shortbread that I could have made at home with ingredients I already had but never mind. Having looked at my list for this week I think it will be around £10, as long as I stay away from the biscuit section!

  • Bit late but can I join, trying for £320. 2 adults, 2 teenagers, up to 30 September. Doesn't count school lunches so a bit reduced from over the summer hols.

Just doing list and meal plan for the coming week - one of my favourite times of the week with a big cup of tea and high hopes for sticking to budget!
    GC Feb 2019 (to 10th) £397.07/£300
  • Bit late this month, can you put me down for £80 please? That's for 2 people and a dog. Am trying to use up stuff in the cupboard this month and keep the spends as low as possible.
