I had £28.68 left over from 2 regular payments (one was cheaper and one is a free month) so transferred it into my ISA. I don't remember when I last put money into it but seeing as I have already OPd £500 I figured I would try and replenish my savings.
Today's job is to post for some heating engineers to come and give me some advice on my boiler and radiators, ideally I would like any work done before Easter so need to get moving with it.

Away from home until tomorrow and the weather is horrid so I am spending as much of the day inside as possible reading my book and doing some financial planning :money:

AJM, why do you need life insurance? You don't have any dependants.

I didn't get too far with that as I ended up spending a lot of the day chatting to some old colleagues. I am spending this afternoon doing it instead but yes I am quite inspired to do it.

That is why I haven't bothered yet but was wondering whether I should.

My £500 OP at the beginning of the month has changed my monthly payment which is now £11.04 a month cheaper. I can't decide whether I was going to change the monthly amount and continue to OP up to where I was before or keep it the same and shorten the term so I need to find where I did my planning. I am planning to have paid this part of the mortgage off by the end of the year anyway so it probably doesn't matter too much.

I am absolutely exhausted. Not including the time I was away visiting my parents tonight is the first time I have sat in the house doing nothing since new years eve and even that night I was quite busy doing stuff. I think I need to find the right balance, I like being busy and doing all my outdoors/fitness stuff but I am on the go so much even I was starting to realise I was pushing myself too much. The easy thing would be just to stop but that takes away a lot of my socialising so I think I might need to put time into my calendar like a diary entry. I am going to give it half an hour and then go to bed and read, if I fall asleep early then I obviously need it.

I ended up having to go out and buy a new printer last night, I think it had been 4 years since I had last used mine so it threw a fit and wouldn't work. I found one I thought would be good, reserved it and went to pick it up. There was a really good shop assistant in there who asked me how much I intended to use it and what sort of things I would be printing. He then told me the one I had ordered wasn't suitable and suggested another one that was £10 cheaper, had cheaper replacement cartridges and an ink deal which should mean I don't run out of ink. It was really nice that he listened to what I wanted and correctly advised me even though it has lost the company money. I was so impressed I have suggested Mr AJM gets the same one as his one has stopped working too.

Spending is going well so far this month, I haven't kept a specific tally of food and fuel spends yet but I have plenty of money for this (I think).

I have had a very productive day at work which is good as yesterday was rather hectic and I got nothing done. I found I wasn't able to do much on my list as I was waiting for others but I managed to start some bits and bobs off. I have managed to do everything on my list for when I got home though, I live by lists although am not always good at clearing them. I have a couple of admin days set aside next week and I am hoping to make some headway in the various projects I am doing.

I am impressed that I am deliberately setting aside some time for myself in the house. I am tempted to take myself to the cinema one evening as there is something I would like to see and am also thinking about not planning anything for Sunday apart from house related stuff but I will see how the week goes as I may be craving some swimmers company by then.

Cinema sounds good, as does swimming. Exhaustion not so much. Be kind to yourself. Rest is good, essential even. Problem is that for some of us doing nothing isn't restful... find something that works for you - and do / be that.

I feel it is quite a breakthrough for me that I have realised I am probably pushing myself and I need rest. I am slowly learning to stop and not feel guilty that I should be doing something.

The next few days I have a few things planned without going crazy. Today I am going on a bike ride with a friend and her husband, tomorrow I have parkrun and a sea swim. I had planned to have Sunday as a day with no plans but there is a swim at 10 in the morning with some people I haven't seen for a while so I am going to do that as I should be home by 12 and then I can spend the rest of the day chilling but not really doing anything.

Still sounds full on to me - but that's the point - if you enjoy it - it should energise you. Good to catch up with friends. You don't have to like the same things as other people - but if you can find a like minded group it can double the pleasure.
