I began a new approach on Friday, only doing in my life what is essential. I started reading a book based on this and while it is meant for work I am trying to adopt it across my life. Based on this, yesterday I removed my grill door to get rid of the broken glass and help me eat properly again and replaced my hot tap, maybe not essential but it was driving me crazy. Also essential that I did it myself and not ask for help when I know I am more than capable. Today when I get back from work I need to replace my smoke alarms as none of them work and put up carbon monoxide alarms.
I have tomorrow off, unsure how to use this approach then but already have a workable list for work on Tuesday, 5 things which need doing and anything else can wait.

I started practicing mindfulness on Thursday, early days to tell how it works but 5 minutes for myself every day is great.

I learned a lot from this clip on meditation, which helped me enormously when I just needed to get back to a calm place one moment meditation - I was alerted to it in the pre-reading for a stress-management course I was taking a few years ago. You might want to take a look and try it
    Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread

Just checking my figure to submit for the MFiT-T5 challenge, no idea how I came up with my figure but I highly doubt I will be able to make it by the end of the challenge. I do need to remember that I will be making some larger OPs that might make a difference but I wonder whther I was just trying to give myself something to work towards by not changing it from the challenge I set on the other house...with 2 wages... The bonus is my holiday habits are changing now I spend so much time swimming in the lochs and seas here so that could contribute more money.

I have managed to secure today off work and already have quite a few things I want to do, unsure how many are essential but in this positive mindset I am trying to make the most of things.

I am going to put an order in for a new sofa today so I can lounge out and be comfortable as I only have single chairs. Unsure what to order though, definitely 1 two-seater but don't know what else to get, I am going to mark out how much space 2 will take up and go from there.

Have read through your diary from page 1 and wanted to say well done. You are doing so much; OPing your mortgage; rewiring your life and career; grappling with anxiety; and learning to live alone again. This is a huge amount and you're doing brilliantly in it all. I find I can't always see it when in the thick of it.

Please keep posting as you have a posse of devoted admirers here.

Aww thanks, firstly for having the patience to read through my droning on and also for posting. I am guilty of silently reading people's threads and not commenting but it is always reassuring to get an objective perspective so I should comment more.

I have had the most exhilarating swim this morning. I have found an open water swimmer that is about the same pace as me and we were both absolutely buzzing when we got out of the water today. My new kit (designed for open water rather than the pool) has made all the difference. A year ago I wouldn't have dared set foot in open water but I have met so many wonderful people through this crazy sport of mine. It has been a lifeline and not one I plan to give up easily. I am so buoyant I am trying to get myself back in the zone to get the confidence on my bike so I can enter some open water triathlons.

Mr AJM is coming to the sofa shop with me to give me his opinion on the sizes of the furniture. I sent him a photo of the chairs mapped out on my floor earlier and think I will go for a two-seat and a single chair but just need to check they are suitable in reality.

Right now I feel I could achieve anything, it is a shame I can't swim outside more regularly to get this feeling.

I have ordered my sofa and it will be delivered to the warehouse in just over 4 weeks time. I am hopeful they can deliver it within the week after that or it may have to wait as I will be away with work, I am sure I will find a way.

Next step on the road to reovery and discovering myself, made myself go to the gym this morning to do the physio exercises I have been set to make my knee stronger. I have pretty much neglected these since my first appointment either doing something a little different or nothing at all but I have entered or planned a couple of events next year so owe it to my body to get it strong. Off out for a swim soon and then have a sports massage booked for later this afternoon, a day all about me :D
MFiT-T5 total submitted. Moving forward at this point £300 a month for all spends minus fuel is too much of a challenge and unralistic so I need to think of a better total to use for November. I need to start somewhere that is not too difficult and slowly try and squeeze a bit more money from it.
Off to go and fuel my body for the swim.

I have a loch swim planned for lunchtime today but other than that I will not ask anything of me. It is a year today since Mr AJM and I separated and while deep down I know it was the right decision I am quite emotional, the way things have gone over the last year and certainly four weeks have taken a lot out of me and from me. I am glad I have the swim to go to because I know if not I would probably sit in the house all day and it is a beautiful day outside. I am hoping I will arrive in plenty of time before any of my swim buddies as I would like to just be by the water and if there is time I will quietly meditate on the loch side as this has become so crucial to my recovery over the last week or so. Ironically Mr AJM is coming around for a takeaway tonight while we watch the grand prix (he can't watch it in HD at home as he can only see these channels using my $kygo), maybe if I had realised the day before I arranged it I would have done things differently.
