Yes, no pleasure if it is too cold, it can be too much of a distraction. Much warmer than it felt yesterday here thoughSave £12k in 2025 #2 I saved £14,660.97 of £6000 or 244.35% of my target. The 2026 Save £12k in 2026 thread is here

Struggling right now. I am not posting for sympathy, more just hoping that if I put this down it might get it out of my system or help somehow.

It looks as though I should have enough in my budget to cover the GCSE course fee (paid on my credit card) without going into my February pay. As it stands I have £46 in my account not earmarked for anything and I can't see why I would need to spend all of that, it definitely helps not having to use my car as much.I think this is the latest in the month I have checked what I will be paid but I have just filled that in to my spreadsheet.MFW 2025 No. 7 £2731.07/£2700

Today I am going to call some of my friends and neighbours - just because I know we are all fed up at the moment. And we have started a "where shall we go, and which dates?" email with the three people (2 households) we normally go away with in July - small things but I'm trying to be more outward facing because I was struggling tooSave £12k in 2025 #2 I saved £14,660.97 of £6000 or 244.35% of my target. I haven't started on my holiday planning list yet so maybe do some of that this evening. I have been wondering about booking a camp site pitch somewhere in the summer in case we can travel a bit by then, I know once things start to get eased they will fill up very quickly. If that fails one of my friends has a farm and she has said I can camp and have a break on their land, either in one of their fields or in the back garden which is fairly big.I know all this is a transition process for a rather large (to me) loss I experienced in November. I was crying reading one of my books last night and that is usually a sign I won't sleep very well so I put on a guided meditation for self-compassion before I turned the light out. It must have helped because I slept ok in the end so I might try a different one tonight.

I don't know if you do FB but there are several groups that report on wild stopovers and pubs with a field outside you can camp in if you buy your meal and a drink there (varying amounts of facilities, and varying welcomes, with some offering breakfasts) and our experience with our camper van is that there are a lot more quiet places to go with it - all the caravan and motorhome certified locations take no more than five for example. Going Sunday to Wednesday is a good way of avoiding the hordes (especially outside the school hols).
- I'm a great believer in meditation for keeping or regaining a sense of peace - I might have mentioned it to you before but I regularly use this one (one moment meditation) which I practised regularly when working and it just took me out of stressful situations there when I needed it - literally in a moment after doing it with him several timesSave £12k in 2025 #2 I saved £14,660.97 of £6000 or 244.35% of my target.
