  • Voters who voted UKIP in the last GE are not Labour voters.

    .

    Oh really?
Labour’s Future, Why Labour Lost in 2015 and How it Can Win Again, to be published this week, says the party is losing socially conservative voters to Ukip in droves, while appealing most to metropolitan liberals who tend to be better off and to have been to university.

  • The report is very interesting.

The Tories didn’t win despite their commitment to cut the deficit; they won because of it. Voters rejected Labour because they did not trust the party to cut the deficit....

Overall it is UKIP that has benefited from Labour’s collapse among socially conservative voters. In 2005 UKIP’s vote share among Settlers was 4 per cent, but by 2015 this had increased to 24 per cent, only 2 per behind Labour. What is more, Settlers are twice as likely to be from socio-economic groups DE as AB. So, to an electorally significant degree, the collapse of Labour’s socially conservative Settler vote represents the collapse of its traditional working-class base, once tribally loyal to the party

Of course Abigail will dismiss this as having been written by red Tories.

This tribal loyalty has been the backbone of Labour for quite some time.

There's plenty of andecdotal evidence on these boards for this, my old man and his brother are two. Always voted Labour - never to do so again under Corbyn.

So if there are statistical reports and anecdotal evidence supporting the collapse of the old Labour tribal loyalty, but no such evidence that the tribal loyalty the Conservatives enjoy has collapsed, how on earth does RT/Abigail expect Labour to win an election when they've turned voters away and cannot win over Conservative voters, they're fishing in an ever decreasing pool of voters. Where's the landslide coming from that will bring you victory in 2020?

In fact I don't even know why I've bothered asking the question, it's obvious that there will be no landslide, there will be no Corbyn government and he will utlimately lead them to failure should he still be leader during the running of the 2020 GE. Only the delusional acolytes would think otherwise.

Not about winning an election. It's time in the limelight and promoting themselves.

There is nothing particularly hardline left about France, who also outperforms us economically and are more productive per hour worked than their British counterparts (i,e. you).

    French Unemployment = 10.5%

    French Youth Unemployment = 24.4%
  • Abigail unemployment = 100.0%

There is a reason why rich selfish people vote for the conservatives and it is not about their innately sunny dispositions.

Why do you have to be selfish to vote Tory?

What is socialism? Answer - a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

I don't believe in that - governments don't run things well - the private sector does it better. What's selfish about that?

as usual toxic toastie spreading a message of anger and hatred to his parents and all their generation: one wonders what did they do: you really ought to consider counselling services (probably free to some-one like you.)

of course no actual facts or discussion just the usual personal abuse.

Did you see QT this week?

The audience gave a great big cheer to another member of the audience who stated that the left were hypocrites - while they preach tolerance they are actually intolerant of all but their own. The guy coined the term " Socialist Delusional Disorder". Quite a very jokes been made about it.
