Yep, the pregnancy kits you buy in a shop are now 99% accurate so there is no need for the NHS to spend millions stocking up on them.

Either the doctor will go by what you say, or you insist on peeing on the stick you've brought along with you there and then.

£25 for the letter is probably just a policy of that particular surgery. I'm sure many out there would just print off the letter there and then for you.

I guess you need to go back and tell them it is too early for written confirmation but from what you said you have plenty other concerns, e.g. being homeless, mental health problems and it is probable that whatever accommodation you may be provided with would be temporary anyway. Have they indicated whether it is likely to be hostel or B&B?
  • I'm surprised the council are not asking about the property you were apparently moving to (next week?), or the council property you have been living in ... or was that mortgaged?

What information have you put on the application form about your previous address, and where did the DWP think you were living?

This was 12 days ago...make your own minds up but I would not waste your time giving advice as too many inconsistencies.

The time and knowledge isn't wasted even if this particular case isn't true, as someone may genuinely need it in the future.

The number of time I've Googled something and been brought to this (or another) forum instead of having to ask someone or ask online is probably 90%, which has probably saved both me and other posters a lot of time and resoures.

CKhalvashi - you're right, I hadn't thought of it like that.

I think the OP has been sussed after changing a website, that has no connection with them, to 'private' , following comments made on here.

With an attitude like that I'm not surprised there's no really useful replies...
