NiftyDigits has been very helpful to the OP in this thread, and said one thing, out of frustation presumably, which the OP could have, but it seems did not, take offence at.
AndyPix and Fightsback, who I've seen being helpful in other threads, have not helped the OP at all here, and just slagged off NiftyDigits, starting with AndyPix calling out the above comment.
NiftyDigits wins this mighty internet thread battle in my book.
Nope.....He has form for being rude, arrogant and abrasive.....That will always lose any battle, if indeed there ever was one....

I agree with JiveSinger. Clone your current install and store that safely and then run a clean install of the Anniversary Edition if you want to evaluate it.

It's like being over on the Pensions Board, people falling out....

At the risk of sounding like a hippie, can't we just all get on please?

    Thankyou :)

Nothing wrong with being a hippy GJ, I'm quite happy to engage in a ceasefire and smoke the peace pipe. I'm just upset that andypix posted my picture :)

This is why I love this forum. A great (mainly friendly) rabble.

Nifty can be prickly (I know) but some of his contributions are pure gold. For example (Post #11 and #49). Spud17 also helped me a lot with #47.

Some people make the mistake in thinking that if a post has not been helpful to the o/p then it is has contributed nothing. This is not the case. There are lots of lurkers like myself who follow the arguments and learn a lot.

Many thanks to all especially to the o/p for introducing the topic that was not familiar to me. Those who inject their goodly humour also deserve credit for giving us all a laugh on the way.

Windows 8.1 English International 64 bit in case the OP ever wants to reinstall his original OS. But I can't imagine that anyone would recommend this to him.

Whilst I agree with a good debate on technical aspects, I don't think we gain any knowledge from people trawling the Internet for silly pictures
It might be funny the first time, but when most of their posts are mostly disruptive, you have to call an spade a spade.
It's ok to have a bit of banter, as no one likes a humourless poster, but when the OP has to trawl through post after post of rubbish to get to the salient info, then the children need reining in.
Hence the OP wanting to have the whole post scrapped, as it was becoming useless.

As to prickly...I communicate with friends in much the same way. It might come over harshly online to someone who easily takes offence. But if my intention was to offend, I wouldn't be helping them in the first place.:)

Actually in person, I'm ludicrously pleasant. :) My girlfriend is the prickly one.
