NST August: Cut the chaff

Attempt number two at getting the parcel so another challenging walk but no parcel. Slight mystery - my best guess atm is that DS2 called, saw the card and went to collect it himself on Friday as, if it was his parcel he needed it for the stag do at the weekend.
Couple of rests on the way home but no spending. Have not spent on fizzy water or diet decaff coke (probably only postponed but might have bought today and later in the week) so 70p in the wants not bought fund.
Some reading done (definitely don't like the depression book I read yesterday - author doesn't believe in counselling and suggested bungee jumping). Will try the daily exercises, modify a few, stop when they get too much. He also suggests (no he demands them) affirmations, 4 initially rising to 6 to be chanted/ shouted each morning and evening. His only concession is that if combning them with a walk, shouting might not be practical. Ah well one down, three to go.
Today I am grateful for shelter when it rained, curiosity - usually think I don't have much but am fascinated by the work on one of the still standing mills (worked there briefly and unhappily, nearly crippled me) and libraries and the opportunities they offer. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Evening everyone :hello:
Today was a pretty unexciting day, I didn’t venture outside the house so managed my first NSD of the month.
The wee man napped a lot of the day and rather than catching up on my own sleep I spent far too much time browsing the internet, whoops. On the other hand, the TV did not get switched on and instead I read 100 pages of ‘The Girl on the Train.’
My electricity and gas bills were paid today, together they were £1.14 under budget so I paid that towards my credit card.
The weather is not looking great for tomorrow, potentially another stay at home day. I do need to buy the wee man a rain cover for his pram and a cushion for his car seat (most likely online) but I am holding this off until Thursday as I plan to post by friend’s baby present then and can make it my ‘spendy’ day.VSPC 2019 #10 - £168.80/£100 VSPC 2020 #4 - £262.03/£200 VSPC 2021 #9 - £242.88/£200 VSPC 2022 #3 - £188.03/£200 VSPC 2023 #7 - £0/£2000 -
Evening all,
SFD number one here and resisted dinner from the fish and chip shop, so that's £5 in my want but don't need fund. I had sausage, mash, carrots and gravy instead
Didn't do much exercise, turned back on dog walk due to rain and spent most of the day helping my mum with a load of decluttering at her house.

I haven't got off to a great start I'm afraid; haven't managed an NSD yet, but this makes me realise I need to look at the way I grocery shop; I did a weekly shop on Friday but have topped up at least 3 times since then, at this rate it means I would actually double the amount I usually budget for weekly groceries:eek: something has to give!
Just half hours walking today and yesterday - I'm feeling so exhausted and run down. I'm going to start a course of B vitamins tomorrow as I suspect it's due to changing hormones (sorry if too much info)
Have cut down on screen time today but haven't been too successful in the rest of the challenge. Must try harder!0 -

Went to the gym this morning, paid the tv licence and bought lots of fruit. Been snacking on fruit instead of chocolate so doing well with that aspect of the challenge. Going to aim for a NSD tomorrow.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Dear all,
I shall be missing for a while, as my dad died unexpectedly yesterday morning. Those of you who have been through this sort of thing will understand just how overwhelming everything is at the moment.
To add to the mix, mum tripped outside the house with a right wallop and landed on her face. Neighbours were with her (I live 150 miles away and my sister is 200) and eventually got her to go to A&E, so that was my first port of call. She had been there about 6 hours and was ready to get back to her house.
I shall still read along, but don't want to promise to reply. Look after each other.
