Hi smiley_77, I'm selling my teaching resources on TES. I've created a lot of schemes and resources for the new English spec so I have put them on. It's good because I get feedback on them and someone might suggest something that I hadn't thought of.
Something else which might be useful to you, if you're a teacher, is publishmenow. You review resources and if you write a decent review you get a free copy of the resource, or a voucher that you can use to purchase other resources. It's not your typical bog standard resource and there's some really good packs on there. Hope this helps!
Going to have my breakfast then get loading the car up ready for tomorrow. I'm looking forward to my first car boot to be honest. We have a number to aim for and we'll do our best to get there. The number is the last bit that we need for our house deposit without going into our 'living' accounts. Deposit gets paid on Friday so the team is pulling together and we're on a mission
Managed to save £18.50 on the online shop yesterday by using ecoupons, vouchers and discount codes so adding that to my total for this month.

Good morning all, it has been incredibly slow this month for me, i seem to have lost all enthusiasm to sell at the moment, i've been to focused on my new project involving pallet wood ;D
On Sunday I went to the boot sale and picked up a load of pokemon and yu-gi-oh cards, they're not my cup of tea but i know they sell well, i paid £13 in total for the lot, i sold the pokemon cards last night for £40, after taking out postage and what i paid for them cards it's a nice £25 profit to start the month off with

Oh, exciting times, Smiley87:j. I envy you doing your very first car boot sale. I still remember my first one which was decades ago:T
Just a couple of words of warning. Be very strong in the face of the 'dealers' and 'professional' car booters who descend in force as sellers are unpacking their cars. They sometimes practically climb into the car to have a rummage:eek:. They try to confuse and browbeat people, especially if they perceive them as newbies, into selling things very cheaply. They often spot a real 'gem' and try to snap it up for a pittance. Or bamboozle new sellers by buying an assortment of items (often lesser-priced but containing one or two bits that they know they can make a big profit on) and demanding a 'deal' for quantity. Sellers are often tempted, thinking it's great that they've sold a lot of stuff before the sale even starts but they don't always realise that they would have sold it anyway for their asking price if they'd waited for the real buyers to appear. It's very disconcerting and a bit scary when they gather round (it still flusters even an old veteran like me:o) but you just have to be strong and stand your ground. Easier with 2 of you though. I'm always doing my sales on my own and often it's still dark when I'm setting up very early in the morning:eek:
The other thing is that there are often thieves about even at car boot sales.. Make sure you keep a very close eye on anything valuable and place it near you. In the heat of a buying frenzy from lots of gathered buyers it's so easy for things to 'go missing'.
I know it's a cliche but remember that there's always another day. If you've lowered your prices as far as you are prepared to go and don't want to 'give things away' just to clear out the lot just take it home. You can maybe add more to it and have another sale. If you are anything like me I had my first sale purely to declutter and intended it as a one-off. What didn't sell was destined for the charity shops but I became completely hooked on the whole experience. It soon became a case of if it wasn't nailed down I'd try to sell it:rotfl:.
I hope the sun will shine for you (though not too fiercely;)) and that you make lots and lots of money:beer:0 -
Just back for a mini update. Sadly money seems to have dried up so I'm thankful for £10 received today from Pinecone:j
I hope you're all enjoying the sunshine:j. It looks like rain is threatened towards the weekend. Round here at any rate:(0 -
Have you missed a post from me Aesop? Probably. I wasn't going to be here much this month as I was having surgery. I have actually been around more than I thought I would be.
Arm to knuckle cast came off yesterday.. the itchiness wasn't spiders, it was a bad allergic reaction to the adhesive on the dressings. I've now got a kinda sock like thing on my upper arm and a lower arm/wrist cast... and it's so sore but it's all progress.
talking of progress, got my first ever paypal from receipthog today.. so thats £11 paypal and £5 AGC so far this month.Make £520 a year in 2020 so far (£0 cash £0 AGC)

Thanks so much carbootcrazy for your advice and kind words. The car is packed up and ready to go. I've got a box to drop off for Ziffit in the morning, so hopefully some money will come in over the next few days.
Hope everyone does well for the rest of August!0
