    Morning,

I'm actually cold :rotfl: and using the tumble drier :(

I have made another £60 payment off the Nuba as I allocated more money than anticipated for passports.

I feel that I have been good so far this summer with spending. The main treats have been treat foods e.g chocolate

    Morning,

I'm feeling cold again today. We had lots of rain yesterday so I had to use the tumble drier.

I've looked into my gas and electricity bill and realised that I'm getting ripped off so am changing providers! 20p cheaper per day just on the standing charge alone plus each kw is a few pence cheaper too.

    Have a lovely day.
  • Morning debtaghh,

It is rather chilly but so much nicer than the heat.

Well done on the changing of the suppliers, it all helps :)

    Have a lovely day xx

Hi debtaghh, you're doing so well! Changing suppliers for things can make a massive difference overall - well done for being on the ball!
The property prices by you are insane!
Where we live (Liverpool), we live in a nice and big 4 bedroom Victorian terrace in a nice area, overlooking a park, lots of cafes, shops, pubs and restaurants nearby, good schools, 10 minutes from the city centre and 25 minutes to the beach. :) It's also only about an hour to nice areas of Wales, the Peak District and Lake District.
We pay £750 in rent a month, and our house would be around £180k to buy.
There are plenty of decent houses around here in acceptable areas for £100k.
My friend lives in a detached 3 bed new build in a nice area a bit further out, she has a big garden and a driveway and paid £130k!
We do have houses that cost £350k here too, but they're 4 or 5 bed detached houses with big gardens and double garages in posh areas.
You can get a 3 bed terrace in a not-so-good area for £60k here.
It's definitely worth considering moving up North when you're in a better position. :)

    Thanks.

I can't believe the price difference. I didn't quite realise how overpriced we are!
  • Its a peril of the south - in my area I would pay £1400 to rent a 3 bedroom house which would cost at least £350k to buy

People say the wages are better in the south and maybe for some they are but I don't think there is a big a gap in take home pay as there is in property prices

I completely agree about the salaries.

Hi Debtaggh, I've just skim-read your diary. You are doing so well but constantly fighting an uphill battle...

From start to finish, your diary has screamed "DMP!!!". I know it's a bit tricky with your family loan but there's always a way!

You clearly spend a lot of time on here so do have a read through the DMP help thread. One thing that everyone on a DMP will agree on is that it works wonders for our mental health. Debt is very stressful and you do have to look after yourself. It may take longer to pay off the debt, but you will have a happier life while the debt is being paid off.

    Best wishes

    Tiger.

    Morning,

Feeling very angry this morn. The family member that was going to give us money to help with our rent has decided that they won't anymore! Please don't get me wrong it was very kind of them in the first place but we took the house on with the basis that they were going to give us the money meaning we had a year to sort ourselves out!
