            Hiya sweetie,
I had the same nasty experience a little while ago, and I remind myself of the shame and horror _pale_ that I felt then every time I feel tempted. that I felt then every time I feel tempted.
So you're not alone sweetie. Trust me!
 Anyway...
The first thing I did is get it all out and see if any of it was saleable on eBay - and I made up a couple of bundles of barely touched High end make up that did pretty well.
Then I worked out what I definitely wanted to use up myself, or was too minging to offer to anybody else and religiously began using it all up.
I've used expensive eye cream on my feet and cuticles cos I wasn't sure how old it was, and didn't want to risk it near my eyes, but I remembered how much it cost and I absolutelyrefused to waste it! :rotfl:
If I run out of something I substitute something from my stash instead of buying more. (We are currently using some of my personal Shampoo Lake as handwash and shower gel - as well as shampoo obviously! ) I love chucking an empty pot in the bin almost as much as I love paying off a credit card! :T ) I love chucking an empty pot in the bin almost as much as I love paying off a credit card! :T
Then I had "The Girls" round for a Cosmetics and Toiletries Swap Night - as an alternative to all the blimmin' Virgin Vie parties they're always inviting me to! It's a laugh, and you get "new" goodies to play with - which really helps when you haven't bought anything new for a while.
My make up is in a giant jewellery box from QVC with drawers, and each drawer has a full face of make up in it (eyes lips cheeks etc) and every week I empty a new drawer out into the lid and that's my make up for the week. If I get bored with this grouping quite quickly then I switch to a different drawer even sooner!
I count this as a blessing really, cos I'm not going to run out of any toiletries any time soon and so I don't have to budget for toiletries at all!
For a start I've got enough shampoo/handwash/shower gel to last until next summer at least! :rotfl:

Get them all on ebay BUffy - you'll make a small fortune
and then stay well clear from the skin rejuvenating / cellulite banishing / liposuction in a bottle aisle in Boots - I learnt the hard way too 0 0

It is all part of the "lightbulb moment" - painful but well worth that pain in the long run.
Some good ideas above from the others - do let us know what you decide to do with it all!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

I've done this one (although not at the same level, Well done you!!) and was really ashamed for it, but I am slowly getting through everything.
I had a thing about body lotions mainly (which is really sad as I always forget to use them!) I also have 2 tubs of hair treatments!! Which I can honestly say I use once in a blue moon!!
I'm nearly out of my stock of shower gels and will only replace once they have all gone. Any little trial freebies I get given go in my 'staying away' pile so that when I stay at OH's, his parents or at friends I have little travel sizes to use. I now have empty bottles with my normal shampoo it them as I was always tempted by the cute little travel sizes.
So you are not alone, I mean I spent £72 at clinque one day when I was really Overdrawn!!! The thought just scares me now!!

Also, you might not have bought all of them yourself.... some of them may have been given to you as presents. If people knew that was the kind of thing you were into? So don't beat yourself up too much, although you've spent a whack, it mightn't be as bad as you think. And certainly won't be as bad ever again!
Onwards and upwards!!! Ebay here you come!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0

Well, I am in the middle of sorting out all sorts of carp - previously vauable possessions.
I am going to do what Jacks suggested and use them all up in different ways - I have loads of eye cream sure my knees and elbows won't mind, I am fairly sure some of it is pretty old, yep I am not going to run out of anything soon!
 thanks everyone

Buffy, I know exactly how you feel!
I am the same, except my weaknesses seem to not just end at toiletries, I also probably have enough clothes to last me 'til I'm an old lady, not to mention stationary (why?), craft things, shoes etc etc etc. Think I just have trouble realising when I've already got enough of something!
I finished uni a year ago, and there's a box of stuff in my room I still haven't unpacked . Plus about three baskets of toiletries that I've barely touched in over a year. Makes me feel so stupid! . I'd definitely agree with what others have said though, get some stuff on ebay, since I saw the light/realised I was a complete hoarder, I've put quite a few random things on there, and it's amazing what people will buy!
Monkeymuch work to be done - new sig coming soon...0

ooooooooooo I do the stationary thing too! and it all looks fairly useless, I have sold shoes on e bay - went well! every thing I want to sell is in a BIG plastic box in the loft and I will bring down four things every weekend............. well that is the plan!!

Go for it honey! I really enjoy the feeling of chucking an empty pot in the waste bin (and my aim is improving! I actually get it in the bin most of the time these days.) I actually get it in the bin most of the time these days.)
It's almost as satisfying as paying off a card.
I have a little grin to myself when I find something in my stash that I can use which means that I won't have to go and buy something new, and I half expected to be awarded a medal when I decanted some products from my stash for my daughter to take on holiday instead of spending £20 on dinky little minis from Boots. :rotfl:
I have promised myself that I can replace my Touche Eclat when it runs out, but for everything else it's a point of honour with me now not to buy it if I can use something in my stash instead or rub along without it.
My daughter pointed out today that 8 of my lipsticks are more or less the same colour - and she's right!
 Hmmmm....
