I was lucky to get through to the Glasgow call centre, and they were really helpful. She was reading the branches that had coin sorters off a list...
If theres a list of them surely HSBC could maybe put it on their website?

There`s a coin counting machine at HSBC on Abington St, Northampton.
MissPop, remember you have to be able to carry all that change to the bank...
I got caught out with that, saving all my change up then nearly broke my arm carrying it from my car to the bank!
You know, I hadn't thought of that... Might have to enlist some muscle to help me carry it down there :rotfl:

Tryed my local branches today in whiteladies road and parkstreet. I did not spot any obvious coin machines.
Anyone live in Bristol or perhaps in Bath or nearby?
Park Street/College Green just has one of the traditional envelope machines. Never been in the Whiteladies branch. I came across this thread because I was looking to see if the Whiteladies Rd branch had one of these machines!0 -

Yes, they work with First Direct accounts. I have a First Direct account and I've paid coins into it using one of these machines. It won't accept my savings account card though, -I just get an error message when I have tried. It will only accept my current account (1st account) card.0

I was hoping that the HSBC website would now be updated as to where the coin machines are located. As there's nothing there I will pop into the one round the corner from me (Fenchurch St., City of London) tomorrow and see if they have one.0

If they don't, ask if nearby branches do. I think SS said they can look up to see if branches have them? (although I am not 100% on this!)0
