And hope you didn't think I was just dismissing your advice. It's something to keep in mind if it flares up again

    Not at all.

It's just I had to learn the hard way. Spent years in pain, going with the conventional NHS advice to eat low fat high fibre........agony, despite the cocktail of meds.

It's only by doing a complete reversal and eating a simple Paleo style diet, and avoiding all grains that I have managed to turn things round.

Mind even the NHS guidelines have finally changed .......at long last. Even they now admit that a low fat high carb diet is wrong.

    Anyway glad you are well.

    Hi everyone.
I was scanning through your posts. I have probably got it all wrong as usual. My hubby was suffering from a constant need to sleep. His energy levels were at an all time low. In spite of frequent visits to the doctor, it took ages before it was discovered that had pernicious anemia. This has something to do with the body being unable to absorb a vitamin I think. As this condition is very hard to diagnose, it maybe worth thinking about. The night sweats obviously disrupt our sleep, and on some days I am just exhausted.

Oh a message for Hester! I tried the bounty bar, very messy! Hubby said it tasted nice though.
No seriously, replens no good for me. I have found this warming oil stuff in Boots. I think it is meant to be used with condoms really. But it did the trick for me.
  • I am just so glad I wasnt eating anything when I read that last post:rotfl:

I think it would have been splattered straight across my computer screen by now....

and...on a related note for the day....been reading an article recently interviewing Britt Ekland and she says she "went off it (ie s * x) 20 years ago". Well....if she feels that way.....okay....LOL. I;m not the only one (far from according to her.....)....

candygirl Yes he does have Jabs. Trouble is our doctor's surgery does not allow him to book the nurse that far ahead. He always knows when he needs a top up, as the symptoms let him know. x

Does anyone else have feet that burn at night? I have to keep my out of the covers a lot. It's better now that I'm off HRT but still bothers me.
Overprepare, then go with the flow.

  • I read various herbal websites and have seen the following book recommended "The Menopausal Years" by Susun Weed on there.

So - did a quick google to Amazon to take a look - and there is a very generous extract from it up there if anyone wants to check it out.

Can't say myself what I think of it yet - as my own copy is now en route to me.

I thoroughly recommend the 'Menopause Matters' website and forums - very, very helpful.
