My EYES!!!! DD is making me watch Catfish - after I had to ask her what Catfish meant. I know I'm getting old because I think it's the biggest pile of tripe that ever existed and she thinks that it's the best thing ever. I suppose it's better than Geordie Shore at least.
I'm still tired. I rang the doctors but there are no appointments available in the next 2 weeks so it's going to have to go to the bottom of the list for the time being. I just keep plodding on and will keep going as I always do.
Another day of not that much. I woke up far too early and then had to go out in the rain to the Stadium. There has been a bit of a muck up with the boys season tickets that have left them being seated 18 seats apart! So I went to sort that out. It's ongoing but I hope that we can get it sorted. It's their fault so as far as I'm concerned then they need to sort it out.
Went to Mr S for some basics as dd had used all of the bread and dh had used all of the milk. Now just sitting doing some crochet in front of this horrific tv. At least I'm somewhere vaguely in touch with the youth of today. I feel every single minute of my 39 years and then some...
  • Wash your mouth out! Catfish is fascinating — I love trying to work out the psychology of everyone involved. Also quite like watching Nev ;)

  • I put a post about it on fb and I'm really surprised that loads of my friends think that its such a good show. I can't understand why some of the people on there would think it's perfectly acceptable to 'be in a relationship' with someone for 2 years without having ever met or spoken to them.
  • When you posted I thought I better google it as never heard of it but then after reading about it I realised DD watches it all the time. I catch DH watching it with her quite often - he likes the psychology aspect of it as well.

I did actually watch it once and I basically spent the whole time saying '!!!!!!?'

You would be surprised how many people are in 'relationships' with people they have not met, social media makes it so much easier nowadays to chat to people miles away at the click of a button.

I liked the film Catfish but haven't really seen much of the TV series. I can understand why it's popular (and I second ABA's post about Nev) but I tend not to watch much tv like that.

  • Evening all :hello:
Today is (finally) the first day that I've felt ok. I'm starting to enjoy sitting and doing nothing very much. Crochet time is coming on lovely and I'm getting quite a few things made. It's a shame that it takes this long into the holidays for me to start feeling anywhere normal.
Spent a bit of time in front of the telly and enjoying getting back into crime tv shows again (no catfish today). Then went with the kids to get click and collect the final bits of the school uniform. Now all done apart from some insoles for dd's shoes as she has long but incredibly skinny feet.
It's also hit me today that it's almost results day. I may be able to access them tomorrow (sometimes I can). I was so confident about all the A's and A*s that I was going to get that I'm now really worried that I'm going to end up looking like a fool. Typical me being so worried about it - what could I possibly do about it right now? Absolutely nothing - so there's no point in stressing.
Right. I'm yawning like a good 'un so I'm off to bed. Still haven't done much mse stuff and I'm starting to annoy myself now.

  • Fingers crossed CCL. I can remember the nerves I had as a pupil on results day and I imagine that as a teacher it's much the same.

As I write this, "Things Can Only Get Better" came on the radio
  • Well it's ten past nine in the morning and already today is a 'challenge'. Firstly I was woken by a cat desperate for going outside at 5.30 - I couldn't get back to sleep so started dozing on the sofa. Then at 8 ds came down and woke me up to let me know that dd was trying to get in touch - she was at a sleepover and wanted to come home. That's an indicator of a not-so-good night. So that's all 3 of us up way early and therefore all 3 of us in a fractious and grumpy mood. :coffee:
Plus I've tried twice to access the results and can't get them. That must mean I'm not considered to be in the loop this year, or they aren't there yet. Thanks for the good wishes Bob and Speky - looks like I might have to wait another day though. :(:(
I don't know what today will bring - ds will be naughty because he's tired. I have suggested that we all go back to sleep but he's not up for that. I doubt we'll do very much because we're all so tired. Maybe a bit of walking for pokemon but probably not much else.
