I think a gardener is a fab idea CCL, you already do so much! I would do the same, I might invest in a cleaner one day when I'm debt free.0

I can see bits of the garden that I didn't even know existed to be honest. He's just done the basics today but it's about a billion times better than it was. And I feel a lot better not being judged by my neighbours for having the messiest garden in the street.
I'm absolutely knackered today but really pleased to come home to a tidier garden and dd a lot happier than she was yesterday - she had a real crisis of confidence about starting comp last night and spent a few hours alternating between tears and being sick with nerves. She was convinced that nobody would like her and that she wouldn't make friends but of course everyone has seen the gorgeous kid that I see and she's doing ok.
I had a full teaching day, which was hard work because it was hot and nobody could be bothered. Then got home and had a call with the mortgage man. Looks as though our application has gone through so I'm really happy and keeping everything crossed this will work out because it will knock 5 years off our mortgage, which I would be really pleased with.
Just had a quick shower, now tv and bed. Me time, no spends etc. Night :wave:Not giving up

How lovely to have a gardener - I keep thinking about one and a cleaner and then think I should be more organised and fit it all in!! (Not sure where though!!)
Glad DD was ok at school today and that your first day back with pupils has gone ok.
Excellent news on the mortgage!!
It's lovely to see you having a better bedtime routine and going to bed early than you were. An hour of sleep before midnight is worth 2 hours after!! I will keep reminding you of this when your bedtim gets later and later!!0 -
I feel like a real middle class snob having a gardener... :rotfl: Truth is that I'm just paying someone to do the stuff I really can't bear doing. Garden more important than cleaning, but I would love to have a cleaner as well. That's on the list for the future - meantime I'm going to continue to enjoy my shabby chic house.
I'm still utterly exhausted. I did washing up and hanging washing out before work this morning, then left for work at 7.30. Finished work at 5 and then went for a top up shop in Aldee (£29). Got home just after 6, brought the washing in, made dinner, had a shower, made packed lunches, got the bins out and got another load of washing in. I've also helped dd with her homework (science so nice and easy) and planned some stuff for tomorrow as well. Now I'm catching up on here whilst watching GBBO (love BREAD!!!) then going to do some crochet and get to bed early again. 10pm new bed time although I feel as though I don't have a spare second in my life. Not giving up

Well done on the gardener
I really think that our job is quite physically demanding and obviously takes up lots of our time (if not all!) and 20 quid is marvellous.

Oh. My. God. I feel like I could sleep standing up I'm so tired tonight. The first week back is an absolute killer. I'm worn and my eyes are hurting - there's a migraine niggling behind my eyes. I need to get myself another early night tonight I think.
There's not much to report here at this end. Work has taken up everything this week. On the plus side I'm not spending, but on the negative side I'm dying with tiredness...
Work has been ok - I've managed to stay relatively on track. Some lessons have been fine, and some have been awful. I'm trying to get my head round a couple of new things - biology (why the **** I have to teach biology when there are 4 biologists in my department I don't know), but also the new science spec as well. There have been a couple of new things on there and I'm out of my comfort zone.
Also a bit peeved that I'm not getting to see much of dh. I've been trying really hard to make the effort with him, but I'm so tired - we really are passing like ships in the night. He works 12-8pm so by the time he gets in from work I'm ready for bed, and then I'm gone by the time he gets up in the morning. It's hard but hopefully will pick up as we settle into term time a bit. I have spoken to him about it and he's reassured me a bit that he understands. Good.
I've also had the gymnastics run and football training tonight. Friday nights are tough work - and I have to get up for training at 7. Good job I'm old and boring so I'm not having a heavy Friday night out or anything....Not giving up

Goodness me I have been a particularly busy bunny this morning - I'm only just about getting to sit down. I may have had a quieter day if I'd been at work
Started at 7am, with a visit to my trainer. I've had a bad knee all week which is still aggravating me, so we did boxing today, which always exhausts me but I really love it :j Then me and dh had to pop over to my mam's new house. She rang me last night to ask if dh might be available to help my stepdad and bil move her 100kg fridge freezer into the house. I told her I could probably help and she told me that it wasn't a woman's job to do  Seriously! I decided that she needed to be shown that we can be physically strong as well - so left bil behind and me, dh and stepdad moved it. And managed just fine. So there.
I did the football run again today, and watched ds score a goal while he was playing in goal for his team, from a goal kick! I'm not into football but very impressed watching that. Swiftly followed by gymnastics. Then home, quick changeover of washing on the line and a quick hoover. I need to spend time doing my crochet and knitting otherwise my idea of a home made Christmas this year is a non starter. I also need to be thinking about doing some cooking but I really just cannot be bothered with that. I'm starting to feel the same towards cooking as I do towards gardening. Not giving up

CCL - you cannot run your life at 100mph every day, you need to slow down!!I'm starting to feel the same towards cooking as I do towards gardening
I think you should get yourself a chef:rotfl:

Another busy morning. Well - I say busy - sitting in traffic trying to get to tutoring through the Great North Run route. It took me an hour to get there... Did my tutoring and then came home via Icyland. I think I have committed the ultimate in food sins and completely filled my freezer with frozen veggies and other easy things to make. Cheaper than a chef, but not cheaper than cooking from scratch and prepping myself
You're right EE - I can't keep on the way I have been. I'm exhausted all of the time - have my doctors appointment on Thursday but I don't know if I'm expecting anything of a miracle cure or what. Plus my leg is still sore and aggravating me. Apart from getting the washing done and line dried then my only plans for today are tv and knitting or crochet. In theory that should relax me but who knows.
DH seems to have no trouble sleeping - in fact he probably sleeps too much. I am sleeping lots but still tired. Not giving up
