Now's the perfect time to shift the Tories back towards the centre. Their current right leaning supporters aren't leaving even if she does come up with some more socially equitable policies that hurt them. At the same time labour has abandoned the centre and is lurching towards full blown socialism.
Clearly there's some gambles need taking in regards to Brexit, but the prize for a half decent deal here and a centre occupation is pretty much the annihalition of labour for a very long time.

You've got to really trust a government if you're not worried about a complete lack of opposition.

The other thing is that even if the others to the right of her party vote against her because they don't like her centrist policies, there's a chance that more centrist members of the Labour party will. And if they don't, and she can't get a consistent majority for votes, she knows that she can call a snap election and get even more seats as Labour is in such total disarray.

Occupying the middle ground now is a real masterstroke.

100% agree with this, the disarray on the opposition benches is a crisis in our democracy. Even if they retained Corbyn they must at least be united in that.

There is an opposition. The Governments majority is very slim. The leadership contest is a different matter. The fact that the Opposition has no credible plans isn't of consequence.

There's opposition in name and numbers only. I'm not worried in the slightest whether an opposition has credible plans as the earliest they'll be implemented is 2020.

Plans should influence current discussion. Being in opposition doesn't mean that one is simply destructive. Totally the reverse being constructive is a way of generating momentum that is an alternative.

Corbyn's own voting record is so appallingly bad. Hardly surprising that the MP's have no confidence.
