What about concerns of the people who wanted to stay in, it was more or less 50/50 after all?

I voted remain too. We get a PM from the remain camp, and well as chancellor and home Secretary. Most of the big UK focussed roles have gone to remainers. Things could have looked much bleaker under Leadsom.

I suspect she may have just followed the Cameron line, I am not even sure he was a genuine remainer. There was something seriously wrong with the Remain campaign. Just how difficult should it be to rubbish the £350 million a week claim?

Labour didn't exactly play a big part in refuting this either. The quality of remain support was pretty poor. People in England should not be reliant on the leader of the SNP to give them tangible info as to why they should stay.

I imagine she thinks that a few sincere sounding words that make her sound to the left of Cameron, will be enough to placate the Brexit supporting masses who were really voting for an end to austerity. I imagine she though that it worked for Thatcher and Cameron so why not for her. Meanwhile she appoints the most right wing Government for decades and starts spoon-feeding the electorate with nasty medicine.

Hope I am wrong but I have no reason to believe I am.

which of her policies do you consider form the 'most right wing Government for decades'?

We dont know what her policies are yet. All we have is her coronation speech. Remember Thatchers (well I can):

"Where there is discord, may we bring harmony. Where there is error, may we bring truth. Where there is doubt, may we bring faith. And where there is despair, may we bring hope."

And what's the alternative on offer. Doesn't even warrant thinking about. At a time when a clear policy direction is what's required.

As usual you misrepresent what people say.

I said that she had appointed the most right wing cabinet in years.Debate that if you wish.

I have seen no actual evidence of a change in policy.
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

I agree that the alternative to the Conservatives has become absud.

But the Conservatives can select different approaches to the Cameron/Osborne. More to the left or the right.

May appears to be heading for the middle ground. Old style political divisions are somewhat blurred and out dated. Whatever your politics the choices available are somewhat similar. There isn't a magical alternative to curing decades of financial mismanagement.

Now's the perfect time to shift the Tories back towards the centre. Their current right leaning supporters aren't leaving even if she does come up with some more socially equitable policies that hurt them. At the same time labour has abandoned the centre and is lurching towards full blown socialism.
Clearly there's some gambles need taking in regards to Brexit, but the prize for a half decent deal here and a centre occupation is pretty much the annihalition of labour for a very long time.
