  • You might want to take a look at this site before buying that transmitter. It's a review, albeit only from one person, but they don't appear to be overly impressed with this little gadget.

Were you going to buy it from Amazon too? It's listed here for around £10
so around a third of the price you quoted ;)

ETA: Sorry, just realised the one above is for a video nano :o

Have a look at this one though, still cheaper at £17.50 :)

    Thanks Chameleon
Thats what I like about this site - so much help and info.

I will probably buy direct from Apple or somewhere that can put a package together for me that suits my needs. It will get me started and hopefully I will be able to master how to do downloads and get the tracks from huge CD collection onto it then.

Having never done that before it's all goint to be a huge learning curve. Good sound quality is a must as I listen to music for relaxation as well as entertainment, so I don't want to cut corners or buy inferior products.

I'm not a real fan of the Ipod, but I did go and have a look at this one, while I was there I saw a Sandisk E280 for less than £80, and it has twice the memory at 8gig compared to the Ipod. Looks a lot better too.

  • I was thinking of getting an iPod for Christmas anyway, so this was good timing!

Just ordered the green iPod nano from Amazon cost £75.60 but free Super Saver postage and it's from Amazon direct.

Same deal on blue and pink, but watch the silver which is the same price but is NOT eligible for free postage, so total cost £80.10 and it's from pixmania rather than Amazon.

I have found some of these 3rd party dealings via Amazon are OK, some less so.
Anyway, thanks Martin for my early Christmas present:T

    well is it??????????
  • I bought the silver ipod from amazon as a gift - it was delivered 14 days ago. Amazon will NOT refund the difference between the price I paid £105.71 and the £69.00 they were offering it at earlier today, as they say its only available from Marketplace not their own shop. They have just lost a customer, I spend alot of money in their store over christmas but will nowwill do my entire Christmas shop somewhere else.
  • have been humming and haaing (!) for a while about getting a 'proper' ipod (I have a Shuffle) and I don't want it doing videos and stuff so this seemed good bargain, but we are going on hols on friday so I thought that if I was going to get one I'd want to get it fast so I can take it with me. Fast delivery on Amazon too expensive (and possibly unreliable where I live) so have got one from John Lewis which I can collect tomorrow, £79 and minimal petrol to get there. That's a bargain too I think - thanks Martin !

Hi! just to let you know it is possible to. You need to have iTunes on your computer first. Import your CD to iTunes. Then it is just a matter of click and drag.

Oh! Thanks Martin for the email, ordered mine this morning got it for £69 free postage and packing. The new 4GB nano's are only £99 - good price also!:T
