wot a pain. i have all my mp3 files stored on computer. cant i just transfer them directly?

Yes you can do that. You just need to import the mp3 files into the iTunes software which is as easy as dragging and dropping them into iTunes then it will transfer them onto the iPod for you.

I bought the silver ipod from amazon as a gift - it was delivered 14 days ago. Amazon will NOT refund the difference between the price I paid £105.71 and the £69.00 they were offering it at earlier today, as they say its only available from Marketplace not their own shop. They have just lost a customer, I spend alot of money in their store over christmas but will nowwill do my entire Christmas shop somewhere else.

This is one problem with the Amazon refund the price drop policy. You have to get in quick while they are still selling the item. As soon as they are out of stock, then they have no current price, so there is no reason for them to refund.

And from the first post ...

    UPDATE 12 SEPT 13.40am
As predicted Amazon is playing games with the price! At the time of writing it's £75.60 plus postage (not eligible for super saver delivery) and packing but it may go up or down so check back to see if you can get it for £69 all in.

...this is just plain wrong. Amazon are not playing with the price. Amazon lowered their price to £69 today. They have not changed it since then. What has happened is that the silver nano direct from Amazon is now out of stock, so the next available one, from pixmania, is the lowest price. AMazon have not changed the price, they have just gone out of stock. Whay is this important? Two reasons ...

    1) You do not get free super saver delivery.
    2) You do not get Amazon's terms of business, you get the third party's terms instead.

People may be fooled into thinking they are buying from Amazon with statements like this, and they are not.

  • I managed to order one for £69, and a pop up appeared about subscribing to Amazon's DVD rental for £3.99 a month. After ditching the diabolical lovefilm subscription I'd been looking for another service so thought it was worth a try.

They also give you a £15 voucher that they deduct from your order immediately if you subscribe, if you wanted you could subscribe, get the £15 and then cancel. T&C's said you could cancel at any time, but I'm giving them a try.

Anyone else used them for DVD rental?
  • Bought one for my wife's birthday a few weeks ago, so emailed amazon asking them to refund the difference, just received an email confirming £31 refund.

It is NOT Amazon playing games or changing the price - Amazon have simply sold out of the silver nano ipods, as predicted!

The one advertised at £75.60 plus P&P is being sold via the marketplace (Pixmania) and nothing to do with Amazon whatsoever, apart from them providing the sales platform.

  • Better not show my husband this - he bought me an ipod nano silver from ebuyer yesterday for about £97

Might not be too late to cancel the order if the item hasn't been dispatched yet. I ordered a LCD TV from ebuyer a few months ago for £89.99, the price went down to £76 a couple of days after, it hadn't been dispatched so I rang them, cancelled & reordered.

  • They are now available at argos for £78.97, not much more and are available in all four colours.

  • Just ordered 2 of these from johnlewis.com.
I think I got a real bargin and will be ideal for boys CP. Yes they are £79 however there is a discount of £10 off order see HDUK floating around. Choice of blue or silver.
I had to pay postage of £3.95 but used Quidco for cashback.5% £3.45
Also had to place orders seperatley in order to use discount codes.
BEST BIT OF ALL USED £140 OF JOHN LEWIS VOUCHERS OBTAINED VIA PIGSBACK SO IN COULD NOT SAVE ANY MONEY AS I DID NOT SPEND ANY.

Thanks - just bought mine via quidco too and using HDUK voucher code as a first time order with John Lewis for £ 10 discount it's cost £69 + delivery 3.95. With 8% cashback on Nano only I calculate £ 5.52 cashback so £ 67.43 total cost - cheaper than Amazon when it was £ 69 delivered!

Worth noting M&S have them for £ 79 (reduced from £ 129) with free delivery, with cashback via quidco of 3.95, total cost £ 75.05 so lots of bargains still out there a bit cheaper than whats available on Amazon currently.

(Whoops - have just checked quidco and 8% is electrical, audio is 5% - getting a bit carried away) but still a total cost of £ 69.50 with 5%.
    Can't resist a bargain!!
  • argos currently has a sale on all 4gb ipod nanos ranging fron £68 -£78 unfortunately i recently purchased on full price and just found out they are exempt from 30 day money back (cost me £128 for green one) oh and you can buy a docking station for half price when you buy the nano.
