Martin I think you should get comission off Amazon!
  • it was showing as £69 then by the time i had veiwed 3 pages it had increased to £73.50  Oh well, nice idea.
  • Hi All,

I have just followed the link for the 4GB Ipod Nano on Amazon and instead of being £69 including delivery Amazon are now charging £75.60 excluding delivery so they soon bumped the price up.

    Cheers

    Tracey
  • The price will continue to come down until stock is gone. Apple are shifting them to the bulk sellers to clear the shelves for the new version.
........"you can get non-Apple MP3 players much cheaper."
    Yes but that's the point - they're 'non-Apple'
........"iTunes store (most of which is encrypted so that it'll only play on Apple devices)"
Import any download from the Apple store and then rip it to a CD.Then do what you want with it.
  • Yes it has gone up whilst I have been waiting for advice from my plea for help - but it's still cheaper than anywhere else I've looked..........anyone offer help to my questions above, much appreciated before the price goes up again.
  • [QUOTE=... I am in my late 50's and pride myself on keeping up with most of the latest technology but this one has passed me by faster than you can say "moneysavingexpert". ..
    Would like:
Long battery time + be able to plug in direct.
    Radio?
Able to download music easily and cheaply
    At least 500+ tracks
Ability to play in car and also via a stand alone module with speakers (sorry does that make sense) 'Docking unit'???
    ...
To be honest I'm not fussed about cheapness - prefer quality everytime so will spend up to £100.
Dont require it to play video or take pictures or any other gizmos - I think.]

Sounding like an Apple evangelist, let me say first of if you want to impress anyone, especially a seven year old, you'd need to get an iPod.
The iPod (standard size or nano) can do any and all of these things, but you would need add-ons - but then you would with any other wannabes.

The point of the nano is it is small - if quality is the guide, wait just a few weeks and get the new 'iPod touch'. The latest version of the iPod will amaze you.
The 'iPod nano' has been replaced with a video version, that's why the price is dropping, and it will be seen by everyone (especially your seven-year old) as last year's technology.
  • Right a update for you all

Goto an Apple Store, Apple Centre, Apple Premium reseller and you will find loads, most high street stores have had no or little stock for a while as they order a lot and only give their stores maybe a max of 10 at a time.

I know I have about 130 2nd Gen iPod nanos in my store currently

    2Gb Nano £69
    4Gb Nano £79 (All Colours)
    8Gb Nano £109 (Black)

    iPod Video 30Gb £149
    iPod Video 80Gb £159

The reason the price has increased is because Amazon have now sold all their stock! The ones being sold for £75.60 are supplied by pixmania.

Can anyone please tell me whether these are 1st or 2nd generation nanos? I'm pretty clueless about these things lol :o

This is correct. Amazon are out of stock, and the one for sale now is by pixmania. As is the 2GB at £10 cheaper. Personally, I don't like pixmania, their customer service is dreadful, and chances are your item will be shipped from France, and have a French manual.

Amazon do still have stocks of the 4GB coloured ones at £75.60, with free delivery.
  • read my post 25 and 28 just looked again and there is one left at the £69 price if your quick
