I quite like the 4 weekly payments - I get four payments before Christmas rather than three!
  • Applied for mine in Sept online (had confirmation email) , due 1st week Jan so 1st payment will be towards the end on that month I think .
Expect to hear something during December (WFA in last week):)
  • Just an update , got letter today 1st payment 23/01 (partial) then full payment starts 20/02.
  • Well the system works , as expected I got my 1st part payment (3 weeks) paid in today , then every 4 weeks:) .

I'm the same I was 64 on July 6 the. I'd made my claim by telephone on March 1st. I would be due to be paid this Thursday. I telephoned and the lady said my claim had not been processed yet due to waiting on my NI record( since March). I said I'd not received my entitlement letter yet. She said she would process my claim today. I did read however on .gov that it can take up to 5 weeks to receive a first payment after reaching state pension. I'm a bit annoyed but will see what happens.

For me it's now three weeks after my 65th birthday, I applied for my state pension online, one month prior to my birthday. I phoned them today to see when I should receive my first payment, I was informed they have no record of my claim and gave me another number to phone (0800 731 7398) I have dialled this number and kept waiting on the phone for over 30 minutes now....
The phone waiting is now over forty five minutes....what a state this country is in!
  • Quick update....waited for 50 minutes on the phone. They had received my application previously and after confirming some details, they processed my application while I was on the phone, I will get my first payment, a part payment, in a weeks time and the first full payment in three weeks time, which will be nearly six weeks after my 65th birthday....sorted, eventually!

As with meny of the posts on this forum I did the state pension application on line after getting my "Approaching State Pension age" letter. Yes I had to register with the Government Gateway and wait for my user ID and online activation code to arrive before I could apply on line but at least its secure ?
That was in November 2017, I reached pension age at the start of March 2018 and had no information from DWP. I phoned today, twice the automated sytem cut me off, and on the third try I was on hold for 30 minutes. I was informed they had no record of my application as all November and December 2017 online applications have been lost due to a new computer system!
I did a new application over the phone which was easy, and seems to be the way to go, and more secure. If you can get through!

Make a formal complaint and possibly refer to your MP - this is completely unacceptable.
