State Pension due in a few days - not heard from DWP

Thanks but 33Lurcher said ".... began the claim online (already registered on Gateway)", so I presumed that the code business had already been done and that he/she was referring to a second type of code arriving in the post.
Not really important, just curious.
It doesn't need to be this complicated but the State Pension Online service has been around over ten years and I don't think it gets updated very often.0 -
I am registered and each time I sign in a code is sent via text to allow me to view Ni/Tax/State pension Forecast , this second code as outlined above should arrive shortly to enable me to continue the State pension claim .0

It's all really easy, you get an initial code to activate the state pension section, from then on you receive a text message to get in, it just normal security, and very good it is too.0

OK, thanks everyone. That clears things up.0

Code came today in post went online and completed State pension claim without a problem .0

Shower of gold imminent?:)0 -
I'm using this old thread to say that I applied, online, for my state pension on 26/10/16 and haven't had a written reply yet. It will be 14/12/16 before I need to 'phone them (14 days before my 65th birthday), so there's time yet.
Thought I'd have heard something by now though. Wondering if it would be useful contacting them earlier than they recommend, seeing as Christmas and the inevitable posting delays are imminent?
I'll keep you posted.0 -
Contacting them earlier than they say will achieve nothing.
I suspect the process these things in the order in which they are due to be paid rather than in order of receipt.
I applied online in August and receipt the award notice about a week before the first payment was due. What surprised me was that the online application process didn't process an acknowledgement email (at least for me).
Remember that the first payment can be up to three weeks after the SPa date or the claiming from date I you have previously deferred.
I wouldn't worry yet!0 -
Cheers. I'm not too worried, I have other sources of income.
I'll leave it 'til 14th Dec.0 -
That's right, no confirmation by email, but it all just works. Don't worry
My next payment arrives tomorrow - lovely!
