State Pension due in a few days - not heard from DWP

The delay was not caused by someone 'stopping it', the delay was caused by someone not starting it. The delay was also not caused by computer breakdowns at DWP in the interim: it had simply not been started until they were prodded at least four times so to do.
I am posting this to be helpful to anyone reading, who might (reasonably) expect their state pension to start on the day they said it would. You have to put effort in to make it happen.
Meanwhile another part of HMG worked ahead of time: they took the tax on the as-yet-undelivered-pension. Another K code has arrived, which makes the fifth tax code change this tax year (i.e., since April, i.e., in three months there have been five tax code changes).
HTH.
Nice one Blue, and yes they're quick enough with the K tax coding. My first payment is due on 8 August, in two weeks, so hopefully that will happen. I'll report back then.
On a positive note my pay received today was £170 up due to zero rated NI and a 2% pay rise, not too bad for a part time job!
Not looking forward to the tax tho'!

Can anyone answer a simple question for me?
My SP age day is a Wednesday and my pension pay day is the following Tuesday. I have a forecast of what the payment should be.
What should I expect to receive on the Tuesday - anything? Or maybe nothing until the next payday, a month later?
Thanks.0 -

You should get six days payment, or 6/28ths of your four weekly amount. When you claim the DWP will tell you the amount of your first payment and subsequent four weekly amounts, unless you've chosen a weekly payment of course. fj0 -
Excellent, thanks. I'm looking forward to that 6/28ths! Just over five months to go now.
Will keep an eye out for your progress.0 -

Today I received a letter from DWP, outlining my first payment, and when it's due, the 8th, next Monday and then every four weeks from then.
It also shows a breakdown of your state pension.
New State Pension. £152.84
Protected Payment. £0.00
Extra State Pension. £0.00
Extra State Pension (Inherited) £0.00
Total. £152.84
BR2198(NSP)
So roll on Monday when I expect yo report back that my first payment has been received - fingers crossed. fj0 -

Okay everyone, as promised I said I would update you all on my state pension, and I can happily say the first payment has arrived in my account on the day promised.
Blue Parrot, I don't know why your payment didn't start on time, must have been a different group handling your pension.
All I can say is that it's been an excellent service from DWP, top marks, it all worked absolutely fine.
Roll on four weeks for my next payment.
Cheers fj0 -

Xylophone, exactly as I thought as I walked down to the coffee shop for a nice strong Americano and slice of toast, safe in the knowledge it's going up by 2.5% every year at least, for a little while yet.
Thanks everyone for following this thread fj0
