Concerned in case you left it there - as I've got visions of things like maggots and the like "keeping it company" by now..._pale_
No. Laminate floor above floorboards, so there is no 'relevant bit of floor' sadly.
If mother nature has ways of decomposing ratty, and in due course getting rid of the smell, I am happy for her to get on with it. Any flies can find their way out through the air bricks.0 -
Please everybody take precautions against flu. Flu has hit Scotland at least, fast and hard. One of the dominant strains this winter was not in the vaccine so don't take chances.0

Having an early night as working tomorrow. Wishing all preppers a very happy New Year! One life - your life - live it!0

I wonder if this means that the flu jab hasn't worked for DH. He's 65 but at his last asthma check was told he has the lungs of a 79 year old.
He can do a 15 mile hill walk without getting breathless so I suspect the diagnosis was wrong.0 -
I've been reading this morning that "NHS chiefs are admitting the flu vaccine doesn't work in over-75s"... thanks for those linkies, mar. Hospital capacity is a worry, isn't it I'm not out and about much over the coming days, not until towards the end of the week, so I just keep working on making things as comfortable as possible in the house, including on a prepping level.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I just think staying alert to what's going on is important, and staying clear of crowds. Imagine the explosion of flu that will happen now after Edinburgh's hogmanay do last night - ideal breeding ground for it. And the other thing that really shocked me was reading the huge increase in deaths from flu among older folk last winter. TPTB must have kept the lid tightly shut on that one because I certainly didn't know.0

Happy New Year to you all. While I rarely post I am a frequent lurker and just wanted to thank you for all the wisdom you are willing to share.
The flu warning is timely for me. We all got vaccinated and so it wasn't on my mind. However, somebody in my immediate family is about to undergo major surgery and, next week, I'll be back at work in a building along with hundreds of others. Forewarned is forearmed!0 -
Thanks for sharing the links. Interesting reading.
Avoiding crowds and maintaining my multi-vitamin and my fitness regime will be my January aim.On a mission!

I live near Aberdeen and our nearest hospital Aberdeen Royal Infirmary were telling people to stay away from the hospital because of a flu outbreak.
A lot of wards and staff had caught it and they were trying to contain it,not sure if visitors would stay away.0
