Hi all I was wondering how other parents felt about giving cash or rewards to encourage children to learn and do well in school tests. And if you do, how you do it and does it work? Thanks! Tom

Not exactly school tests but my two girls (6 and 9) are clearly motivated by money!

On holiday recently trying to get them to swim lengths in the pool simply by encouraging them just wasn't working so I switched to "challenges".

The "swim two lengths of the pool breast stroke and you'll get 2.50 euros to spend" challenge worked wonders. They'd done it within the hour!
