I would hate to think people aren't posting because they think their views are unpopular, we are NOT a clique who all agree with each other.

There is a full spectrum of views from Remainers and Leavers and Scottish Nationalists. Plus we are getting some interesting insights from Mila in the US.

We all share an interest in trying to work out what we can do about things to smooth the paths of ourselves and our families

I'm only pointing out what has been said at the end of the old thread.
I certainly don't feel uncomfortable with my opinion at all but can see why others might. A fresh start is good! There are definitely people missing though. Where is Fuddle?.

I hope to post much more on this thread than the last. :D:beer:
Life is too short to waste a minute of it complaining about bad luck. Find joy in the simple things, show your love for those around you and be grateful for all that you have. :)

How about "Prepping for Life's Ups and Downs" :)

That could incorporate the nice things - like growing flowers for a wedding, making the most of home grown produce etc. as well as the not so good such as redundancy, illness etc.

Then there would be room for everyone and everything, wouldn't there? :)

I'm a bit scared of prepping for a brave new world.

    I haven't got the storage space for a start.:rotfl::rotfl:

Fuddle seems to post on the Garden Fence mostly these days. She hasn't posted much on this thread for ages, long before the referendum. She had some upheavals last year involving a relocation and she's settling into her new life. If I remember rightly she said that her preps - mainly her storecupboard - had really helped her through the process

Perhaps the new title might be taken to represent both sides depending on how it is interpreted. After all, the novel plays with the paradox of utopian/dystopian futures and even the Shakespearean context treats the line somewhat ironically. Just my completely unsolicited opinion.

Well as a remain voter who is terrified about the consequences of leaving the EU (remember we are now a country WITH NO PLAN, an actual country with no idea what's going to happen for years to come or who is going to lead us through it), I'm afraid I don't agree with the "Brave New World" element of the thread title. Can we have something more generic please?

Ps I read the prepping threads when I can but don't post unless a certain poster really winds me up :rotfl:
18 months ago I was a person with no plan and no idea what was going to happen for years to come. I ended my marriage, my now ex changed career meaning we had to leave our home (it was provided by work) I changed my job and had to move out of our jointly rented home with just my (relatively low) income to pay for a new one.
I'm now settling into a new job which is a step up and increased pay from my old one. I'm saving hard for a deposit for a shared ownership place and am in a happy relationship.
Sometimes things happen, the world goes boobs up for a while, but there's always a solution.
All part of life's rich tapestry ;)

    Excellent tittle.;)

"Prepping for when the world goes boobs up" Love it! :D

    Anymore?

On a serious note, can all the previous threads be listed somewhere together with either Vanoonoo's introduction or a fresh one? I often refer back to some things and certain lists.

I see no problem with the title, its the contents which matter after all, reminds me of the hoo ha over whether the tables at high flying conferences should be round or square, if round then no one is in ascendance, if square then some folk will feel marginalised. :)

Lets just forget about the politics and just get on with sensible ideas for mutual aid, no matter what is going on in the media.

We are I hope a fairly reasonable bunch of people, and to get stressed about what a thread is called is a bit soppy isn't it

    Now about dehydrators ...
