I started this thread on my lonesome 37 days ago... (5 weeks 2 days!) aiming to earn 75% of my total spend. Up to now I have spent c. £100 and have about another £450 to go... yikes.... who would have ever thought I could re-coup 75%...definitely not me, but I like a challenge!!

TOTAL ACTUALLY SPENT UP TO NOW: £95.74
TOTAL EARNT BACK ON eBay: £205.63

    = 214 %

EARNT BACK OF WHAT I HAVE SPENT ALREADY  I HAVE EARNT BACK OVER DOUBLE WHAT I HAVE SPENT IN 37 DAYS. I NEVER EVER EXPECT THAT!!

Ok I don't have all my Xmas presents yet by a long shot - and estimate I'll be spending around another £450 ...

    ESTIMATED TOTAL SPEND : £550
CURRENTLY EARNT BACK ON eBay: 205.63

= 38% of TOTAL ESTIMATED SPEND EARNT BACK.

Not so good when you look at it like that, but EXACTLY HALF of the 75% I was aiming for... IN 37 DAYS!!!!!!!!! :T:T:T:T yay!!

If I can do it guys - ANYONE CAN!! (This doesn't include presents bought with points/vouchers/deals/freebies etc - it is literally the hard cash I have spent) Thanks for all your brilliant support. I have got to sort some more stuff out to list this weekend and aim for Christmas TRee level!! (Looks like Dad and the couch might be getting listed!! :rotfl:)

    GOOD LUCK!!!!

  • Had another couple of reasonable sales. But then i sold my sons mountain bike last night and the winning bidder didn't check item location so is now refusing to buy it. i have sent out a second chance offer so we'll see if that is taken up. that will add a bit to my total.
I'm over 10% now but with 48 more items listed i should be earning at lest another £75 this week so keep your fingers crossed for me. Only problem is some of stuff is hubby's collectible STUFF, He listed them and he is now in hospital. I am not sure i will be able to tell which one is which to post.:o. I will just have to e-mail winning bidders of predicament and he can do it when he gets home.
    Nothing to declare ;)
  • Oh thats a good idea, we can then be collectively smug :rotfl: (I mean that in a good way)
Christmas 2010: cashback £124.50, Tesco clubcard points: 4220, Nectar points: 1037, Dooyoo miles: 15770, Harrispoll: 2490
    Xmas presents bought - 6, cost £29.46 - saved £102.39 :j
    (just added up total debts and its [STRIKE]£1344.97[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£1174.97[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £1004.97 [/STRIKE] £879.97)

  • Hello All

Just up-dated my signature. Not the best start but it's a start none the less!

After learning a few hard lessons and much thanks to Jamtarts excellent spreadie - i have listed my second batch onto e-bay and hopefully this time it will yield much better results! Watch this space!:D

I have also branched out into the world of amazon and listed a few books on there so fingers crossed for that. Amazon is so much easier to list on!

Well done everyone keep going - we can do it!!!!

right! thats it minimoneysaver - off to amazon I'm going with the few books that I have left. Sold a few on eBay at a reasonable price actually - really random stuff like a dictionary of biology etc! and well done on your eBay sales so far!

    there's a problem with my spreadsheet :(

Can some of you check so I know whether its just me please?

For example, the formula for the total profit should be (Using line 6 as an example) =D6-(C6+E6+F6+G6). That's cool and everything works out fine.

Lines 7 - 17 the C prompt is missing, so I have, for example on line 7)
=D7-(E7+F7+G7) which means the insertion fee is not being taken off (meaning I've been thinking I've made more than I have up to now)

And on line 18 it's really up the creek. My formula is
=D18-(D18+E18+G18) which means an item I sold for for £3.73 shows a total profit of -91p because it's taken off total price, P&P and final value fee LOL!

Is there a corruption with just mine and if so, how do I rectify it? I don't know how to use Excel..........

    TIA

:o err oops! Really sorry guys! The spreadsheet I use is fine...but the one I send via e-mail does seem to have weird things happening in the formula. I have no idea how it has happened And for this I can only apologise :(

If you click the cell that is correct (I believe H6) and hover the mouse over the right hand cell, there is a little " + " that should appear, double click on the very bottom right hand corner of cell H6 and this should fill the formula down.

Alternatively, PM me your address again and I will correct it for you. So sorry about this I am all embarassed!!!
