I have found 2 boxes full of unused skincare items under my bed lastnight-is it worth sticking them on ebay?I usually sell clothing bags and perfumes. Also found a carrier bag full of bras and knickers all unused with tags-oops!I am a shopholic and forget about things i have hidden away.

try it, but do a bit of research as to how much they have sold for to see if it is worth it. Ive sold unused toiletries before

  • Hello hello, just a quick update. My profit is standing at £28.24 so far. That is in 10 days, so I'm really chuffed. My target is £75 so £46.76 to go xx
  • Nice to hear about everyone's success! I have sold a grand total of two items, and made a profit of £6.31. Hmmmm - bit more effort required I think! Like Jamtart6 I have also had a non-paying bidder, though luckily it was resolved amicably, without resorting to negative feedback! We are going to be away all weekend so there won't be much time for Ebaying. I might just re-list a few items that haven't sold to get me going again.

Tip: Have you ever searched for an item you are selling on eBay to see how much it is going for and to see whether or not it is worth bothering with?

Have you then been dismayed to see they have no bids so think its not worth bothering?

I have done this billions of times, until I worked out (thanks guys on the eBay board) how to search for completed listings.

    1. Click advanced search next to the normal search bar
    2. Type in keyword for your item
    3. Click 'complete listings only'
    4. Then "Sort by" [HIGHEST PRICE]
    5. Click search

You will then get completed listings of recently completed listings and see how much they sold for ranked highest to lowest.

How does this differ from searching usually?
When you search normally, most people only place a bid in the last few hours/minutes, so the items you see in the search have a lot of watchers, but all you see is items with no bids. By doing it this way, you can see what bids went in for the items in thel ast few hours/minutes as they are complete.

Hope this helps someone - best of luck!! x
