This is a brilliant idea and got me off my backside today sorting through loads of stuff to sell.
Please Can you just clarify:-
Is it ok if we include sales on amazon its just I have quite a few books to sell and they tend to sell better on amazon and you dont have to pay any fees until it sells.
Also can we include money earned from sales of unwanted gifts that we are not able to give back out at pressies.
let us know if these are ok to include in our figures

Hi guys! of course feel free to put the challenge in your signature - the more the merrier. You can sell whatever you darn well like (as long as its legal lol!) on eBay or amazon or any other auction sites, that can be unwanted gifts, freebies you've got hold of from entering competitions, anything, as long as it translates into COLD HARD CASH!
Really hope I manage it, but its going to be really tough with the main family presents as there is not usually a budget so to speak
Best of luck and most importantly keep us posted on the thread to let us know how your sales etc are going.......... I for one have just made a whole 99p profit - an item has just had a bid on eBay... £47.61 to go LOL!!!

I won't be joining you because:

b] Xmas is aaaages away .... and I will shop on Xmas Eve and spend about £100 MAX.

You'd be surprised at what sells!!! Good luck to you! best and quickest way of listing is to sell all your books in one go or all your photo albums in one go or whatever, as you dont have to sift through loads of categories then when listing!!
I have got a great spreadsheet that allows you to work out how much overall profit you have made on each item (subtracts insertion fee, postage etc) if you would like it PM me and i'll send you a copy!
Cheers - will do ! Used to have a spreadsheet which did something like that (probably not as much on it, tho') but lost it when we got a new computer. Having this will (hopefully) keep me focused ! Might also have a look at Amazon - never ventured onto selling there, might be worth a try for some of my as-new-only-read-once books which I probably won't read again.
Will also concoct something for my signature to keep note of progress (when I get uninterrupted time - so not 'til weekend, probably !).0 -
 :xmastree: What a blimmin' fabulous idea!!!! :xmastree:
My eBay sales are committed to the £1000 in 4 months challenge but if I massively kick bottom on that then I could join you for a late attempt at bauble status in November? It'd get me in the mood for my second ever Christmas at home with my family (and not working! Yay! :T ) if nothing else.
Of course if we give the kids just the pack of cards and a satsuma that we're threatening to (G is 19, and L is 12! :rotfl: ) then I won't have to work too hard to recoup the costs - huh?
I promise to cheer from the sidelines until I can play for real!

If you can get away with £100 then fab for you!
Martin was actually on LK Today this morning telling people to start preparing for christmas... personally I think he's well behind schedule... most of us have been working on christmas since Dec 27th last year :rotfl:
Soon as the sales started that was it! The dedicated savers amongst us were out there preparing for next year
