Nope... I hate shopping. Always have done.
And Xmas shopping sucks the biggest one!
It should be banned. We should just buy ourselves one nice thing to wrap up under the tree, get a big box of chocs... and !!!!!! everybody else :)

 I reckon all us enthusiastic chrissmassy folk on here could make a fortune buying other peoples xmas presents and wrapping them! its so much fun!! Your idea is nice though, at least we'd all get something we actually wanted that way!!! :rotfl:

  • Brilliant...I'm in!! I kind of do this unofficially anyway...I try to sell all the toys ds hasn't played with from last year to buy new toys for him not to play with next year :rotfl: But it's great to have a proper target :D

I don't spend a great deal on presents, only oh, toddler and a very few family members to fork out for, but I have just moved house so I'm quite clutter free. I do like a challenge though :D

Hi please can you all give me your opinions on something

I want to do a christmas hamper for my MIL - partner
He loves Guinness, walking and eating out so I thought about doing him a hamper that includes, a few cans of Guinness, a few items that are Guinness related ie a Guinness Bottle clock for his office , a local book on great walks.

I was also thinking of putting in a tesco clubcard deal voucher relating to eating out - that way he could take MIL out for a meal - Do you think they would think this would go down well or do you think they would be upset at me putting in a tesco voucher.

Let me know what you all think - thanks
    Vicky xx

Why dont you put the tesco voucher in but attach it to a card or something with a light hearted poem about what the voucher is for.... they will probably be thrilled that you took time to write the poem! we can help you on this board to write a poem, ill cerrtainly give it a go if you are stuck!

    Jamtart6 Wonderful idea

    how does this sound

    "
A gift of the pleasure of going out for somthing to eat
it what I have enclosed for thee.

Its a voucher from Mr T at Tesco as you can see

It can go towards the cost of a great night out
    You may have to contribute
You may even get it for Now't

For the man whos hard to buy for
    I think you will agree
That for someone who loves to eat out
It's as perfect as can be

Happy Christmas - Have a great time!

As you know funds have been tight after giving up work due to my health problems
So I have decided that all the tesco points I have collected over the year
Could bring a bit of pleasure to you all at this festive time Lots of love Vicky xx"

please feel free to add comments suggestions - tell me its rubbish etc etc

It sounds great!!! well done!! :)

:ABeing Thrifty Gifty again this year:A

  • Your poem sounds great Vicky...well done!
I'm sure he'll love it...and so will mil.

I wish I was talented to write a poem llike that.
I gave my sons and my oh a ferrari drive last year using tesco vouchers and I had lots of help from these boards (you can always rely on mse's to help out) to write a poem and they were all quite thrilled with the made up card with the poem on.

This year for part of my daughters pressie I am going to give them vouchers for indoor skydiving at milton keynes so if anyone ...creep creep on my begging knees...could possibly think of a few lines I would be really grateful.

    Thanks

thanks for the lovely comments Jamtart6 & Sally Savings

Sally Savings what a great idea about the skydiving I am sure your daughter will be thrilled.

I have tried to come up with a poem for you have a look attell me what u think

"It is with love at christmas that we give this gift to thee
to show you how much we care and how trendy we can be

So instead of all the ususal sorts of gifts
we have come up with something that is personal just for you
Your really gonna love this because its something you can do

For a few minutes for one day gravity will not kick in
For you will feel the wind around your body, hair and skin

So if by now you have not guessed
just what it is we have for you to do

We will let you into a little secret

SkyDiving our darling daughter is is what we have for you.

    Enjoy"

Not sure if this sounds right have re written it a few times so please feel free to swap change, throw in bin etc

Let me know what you think

    Vicky
