There was a report on Argos sofas on radio 4's 'You and yours' program last week. You can 'Listen Again' to it here.

  • I ended up getting £150 out of them, but to be honest I was just glad to get rid of the sofas because I hated them since we got them!
I have heard rumours at work about a lady who is taking them to court about it all.
  • An increasing number of people have developed allergic skin reactions after coming into contact with leather sofas purchased from retailers Argos*, World of Leather and Walmsleys Furnishing. Argos is now said to have withdrawn the sofas from sale but as the situation has worsened, those affected have increasingly needed guidance on where to turn.

Advice and support can be achieved through a number of routes

-By contacting a consumer watchdog – details from www.direct.gov.uk

Watchdog featured these sofas tonight if you go onto their website you may be able to get more info from there............it appears to a fungicide that they use to prevent the leather going mouldy could be to blame..........

I bought 2 Bari recliners from Ebay in August last year. TheBari sofa was mentioned on Watchdog tonight.
I've been treated for a skin condition since before Xmas - first diagnosed as Scabies, then dermatitis, then eczema and lastly shingles. I've been funding the NHS in Norfolk with the amount I've paid for prescriptions!

Do I have any come back on the ebay seller?

Can I treat the chairs with anything to make them safe?
Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree! :D
