I suppose each person reacts differently and it depends on what treatment you are having. In my hubbys case he was itching for a few weeks, but it took about 2 months for it to clear up completely.0

given you have found/issolated the cause your looking at 'just' treating the reaction.
i would go to the docs or at least speak to the pharmasist at your local chemist.0 -
This was on Midlands Today at lunchtime (will be repeated later at 6.30pm). Various people have suffered from blisters etc from sitting on leather sofas purchased from Argos. It would appear that there has been a problem with the tanning process in China (why they can't use English leather is beyond me). Argos are writing to all customers who have bought their leather sofas especially from the Pia and Bria ranges. Apparently this is happening to customers who bought sofas in the last 6 months.
To all those suffering, I would write to Argos to complain - a phone call will get lost so if you phone back it up with a letter.0 -
Someone I know is in the same situation, she had a phone call & told to expect a replacement, she told them she did not want it incase same thing happend again, but they delivered it anyway. She & her partner both suffered with the rash & have had to see the doctor.
What number have you all been phoneing? Any suggestions what she should do with/about the new setee?BARGAINADDICT

I called Argos direct from work, it's on a speed dial and it's a special line just for stores so I have no idea of what the number is. My advice would be to demand a refund. The item has been recalled and withdrawn from sale so she is well in her rights to demand a refund. Just keep calling and calling until they back down, because they will ;-)0

I purchased a Bari suite in March and my husband had the rash from May to August we changed the suite in August and had to pay the difference for a new one. On seeing the articles we called Argos and demanded that they remove the new suite and give us full refund which they did. The suite was removed within the week however, we are now sitting on deck chairs for 12 weeks until our new suite arrives. We have also written to Argos requesting compensation enclosing a letter from the Doctor.0 -
We're in the same situation, we're sat on a sofa bed which is NOT at all comfy. Keep on at Argos for the compensation.0

My PIA sofa came from Homebase in March. I received a letter 3 weeks ago informing me of the possiblilty of a faulty sofa. I phoned and they told me of the "skin irritation" problem. I have one of the faulty batches  . My husband kept getting a rash on his back which would come and go, at the time we put down to too much sun in the garden. It turns out that only one of our sofas were included in the faulty stock. I am expecting my replacement between 12 & 6pm today.0

Same problem for me. Back came out in skin peeling and blisters over about one third to one half of my back. Had no idea what caused this and my doctor was equally in the dark although he did prescribe a cream which calmed down the rash but has left scarring. I then 'dug out' the letter I had received from Argos regarding this sofa. It turned out I had one of the 'dodgy' sofas and in fairness to Argos they did replace it within a couple of weeks.
Has anyone considered taking action against Argos for damages relating to the skin complaints?0
