I have milk delivered from a very local dairy and 4 pts costs me £1.80! I think that despite another recent increase by 2p per pint that is great value for money. I also work in a butchers and was told last week by our supplier of chickens that they were going up because of the cost of feed and the price that wheat is now fetching. Whether it's true or not the explanation seems to be down to the recent floods.0

yes I usually have my milk delivered and it's now not that much more than Tescos/Asda so i shall up my doorstep delivery and not have to go to Tescos. i don't mind the increase if it goes to the framers but somehow I don't think it will do you?... Thanks for the tip about Iceland0

wait another few months, there's a shortage of wheat, potatoes, carrots and many other crops due to the floods
bread is likely to hit £1.20 to £1.35 a loaf (the real brand stuff, not that cardboard value lossleader) and there's likely to be a doubling in price of most root vegetablesEx forum ambassador

But wheat is imported and so are lots of other fruit and veg, hence the "food miles" issues; although above is true it will be used as an excuse by the supermarkets as usual to raised prices far in excess of need. The farmers and consumers suffer but the supermarkets will not.wait another few months, there's a shortage of wheat, potatoes, carrots and many other crops due to the floods0
