This bit didn't come out very well on the forum. The :-
    FORMALLY KNOWN AS

should be on the right of the document, opposite the witness to your signatures name and address.

    Hope this helps.
RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

    hello,
I changed My Christian name 12 years ago. I informed the bank and the National Insurance people and then later the passport office. All I had to do was tell them in writing - didnt need to provide any official documents at all. The only time I thought I may get into a sticky situation was when I planned to get married in the Bahamas...so I contacted a solicitor over the net and got an official name change document signed which cost me £15. The reason I did this was although my passport stated my new name, my birth certificate had my old name and I needed both docs to marry abroard. Hence the need for another document stating the link between the two.
The fact that my surname then changed as I was married means I have a completely different name to that which I was born with.

i want to change my first name as its one that really only people at work use. most people incl. family use my easy nickname for years. makes sense. also my life has totally changed this year so i feel kinda reborn. so to me makes it like a re-branding excercise.

can one keep my old signature even when i change my first name? My current signature is really good scribble and i hate to change it, very unique and one can hardly make out my name from it in anycase.

Wouldn't have thought a change of first name will have any 'affect' on your divorce certificate as that is a record of what you were called at the time. Providing you have a paper trail which shows what your name was and what it is now you should be OK.

I know it's not possible to get things like exam certificates changed as they are a record of your name at the time you took the exam.
