By the way Turtles, I would like to change my NSD challenge from 10.....to 16!
I know you're thinking, 'she's crazy, we're five days in and she hasn't even had one NSD yet' but I once read a study that said when you aim for a small goal, eg lose 5 pounds, you're more likely to fail then if you set a big challenge, like lose 50 pounds. The reasoning behind this is you make much bigger steps to achieve things if it's a big goal, than a small one.
And I had been feeling like this. I had been feeling 'so what if i haven't had a NSD yet, I still have 26 more days to go' meaning I was less likely to push myself.
I'm going for Big and Bold. 16 NSD, here we come.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

If you read back through the thread when it first started in (2012 link here) we had regularly been given the goal of 20 or even more SFDs by Ninjasavingkat and we achieved it sometimes. I would like to get back to that. I totally think you can achieve 16 if you want to.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
That's true ThriftyLass, I read the June NST thread and 20 was set then, and it was only a 30 day month! And lots of people achieved some high scores then.
So yes, I will really have to Watch my spending.
Ok, i'm declaring it now, my Thursday expenses for Football club (£4 a session and £3.80 for the train) have already been budgeted for this month as a bill, so although I'll be spending on Thursdays, it won't count in theory.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Thank you! I have had 2 NSDs this month so far, so if I am allowed to join I will go for 20 NSDs please!
I am on a fiscal fast at the moment so am doing ok I think - I don't anticipate spending any money until Friday this week so should hopefully reach my target! My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

Just saved my slow cooker from the skip for £1.75. The porcelain/stone ware inset was cracked and leaked but I just found out you can buy liners for them. We will get FIL's one soon too but it's only 3.5l whereas ours is 6.5l. Well chuffed.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250

NSD number 3
A WFH day
washing done and drying on line
washing-up x1
chicken stock made
soup made
red Thai veggie curry made
ironing done and packed away
Calling14 The chef Elizabeth David said an omelette it was the prefect meal and I agree. I must have them for my supper more often
TIP
I buy expensive organic chicken carcasses. From these I get delicious stock for soup or use them to enrich curries. I freeze the chicken livers and use with bacon and add to pasta with sage and garlic. I get about 250grams of meat off them, enough for a couple of lunch wraps.
I must admit to being tired today, so no exercise at all
I was kind to someone I avoid sometimes. Today I suggested coffee after an event we are both due at. I do like her but find her draining sometimes
The bigger picture visualisation thingy? I completed an application for a voluntary role I can see myself doing in the future.
I decluttered a volunteer role I’ve been doing for over 10 years. I’ve started feeling dread before I’m due to go. It was great, but time to let it go and do something else that gives me a little more joy.
Florence I like your tip about talking. You are so wise
Catwoman15 Love the tip re muslin cloths (which I have) and almond oil (which I will buy)
I hope my fellow turtles had a positive day
