    Congratulations on the wins, cte1111:T:j:beer:

Whenever I read of people's wins on here it gives me the kick up the bum that I need to put my full attention to comping again. Back in the day when we had to track down entry forms and suchlike I was comping all the time. Going shopping was an adventure:rotfl:. Now, with so many comps just needing a 'click' or 'liking' something on Facebook (no use to me as I've closed my account ages ago) I can't get enthusiastic somehow:o. My loss, I know. Will try to do better;)

completely know what you mean. been comping a very long time and know the people who preferred entry forms, tie breakers etc.

I was never any good at tiebreakers :rotfl:

but these days there are sooooo many more compers. what annoys me is the ones who join and after a week moan they haven't won anything! I mean come on!!!!

but there are other avenues, not just facebook, twitter, pinterest, phone apps.... :rotfl: there are still websites where you can enter, with low entry comps, buying products with entry forms, etc.

and my local estate agents has a free newspaper. they ran a comp that I found out about too late, for a lovely meal for 2 at a very expensive local restaurant. lucky winner would have had a great time. :T:T
so yes get yourself back into it and look for local comps from the local retailers. more are doing it.

In the last week, I've earned £3 on Prolific, 45p on UK Surveys, £2.35 from TopCashback and £24 from Textbroker.

I've also had a great week for competition wins including a weekend away with £150 towards travel and another win of £50 Sports Direct vouchers. I won't count the £150 as we wouldn't have spent this normally but will add the £50, as it will be very handy for new trainers and shorts for my son (plus £10 voucher went into his friend's birthday card saving me buying a gift).

    brilliant! well done! :j:T:beer:

Forgot to mention, my ancient car passed its MOT yesterday. Chuffed about that and only £30 spent for test fee:j:j:j

    yay to passing MOT

we've had a nightmare with DH's windscreen, he got a chip on it. got it repaired no issued. got another chip a couple of days later, booked it in for repair again, to come to his work... couldn't do it for 3 weeks  screen cracked downwards but not enough to stop him driving. They went to his work address even though I phoned and asked them to come to home address. so we lost another day of getting windscreen repaired. car out of mot, couldnt' put it in until it was repaired. phoned and complained. they said we will come next week.....:rotfl::eek::mad:

I said no way car out of mot need repaired asap. they came on the fri and did it.

car passed mot :rotfl: just mine to do in aug/sept.

the boomer is his insurance has gone up by £200 for the windscreen repairs, so need to sit and search around again for better quotes.

vehicle tax has gone up too.

it was my birthday Friday, got £70 cash towards it. had a rubbish birthday but did manage to get some freebies.

got lovely handcream from Bodyshop but forgot to pick up free oil while I was there and voucher was in handbag too. and picked up yet another notebook for free from paperchase. I have a card registered and you get £5 free on your birthday.

they had some lovely stuff before a few months ago but when I went on my birthday to get something there wasn't much left. So I bought another handbag size notebook with pockets for my receipts for all my apps.;):p

got £10 credit from boden which I will see if anything work buying in sales. And if not will stack on account. bought DS some shorts and a new tshirt using their free vouchers. he loves them. a case of "they are dirty, put them in the washing basket." He sneaks them back out and puts them on when I am not looking.... :rotfl:

£15 credit from crazynotto - how generous of them! :)

the usual free bottle of wine from pizza express. unfortunately not had time to take advantage of that.

If you buy anything from brantano, no minimum spend, they give you an entry into their prize draw. top prize, ipad, and something else and lower prizes of discounts etc. Had to buy DH new trainers and they have given me 20% discount of my next spend. will look for some sandals and use the code.

I do like the no minimum spend though to enter.

also a guess how many shoelaces in the jar to win £500 for child activities.

poundland have a comp on the toffeee chocolates chance to win £20 day out vouchers, not bad for £1 investment.

I also bought an amazon firestick for £5 on amazon day. it was discounted, and had £10 amazon credit from amazon and £5 amazon voucher of my own. bargain! :money::j already installed bits and pieces on it.... happily watching tv now....:rotfl::T

am determined to get rid of sky!
  • Well I haven't been doing a huge amount but I have finally got a few bits on Gumtree. So I am adding the following to my total:
    £25 - sold a TV
    £8 - sold a juicer
    £0.50 - Google Play Rewards
    £3 - credit card reward

So an extra £36.50 - total in sig :)

Thanks for all the advice re apps Aesop - still waiting to buy a new phone atm.

Well done everyone making some money - even the pennies add up so keep on keeping on :D

    ......
My laptop is running Windows 7 and I've always used IE as my browser. Suddenly today I saw my email programme was looking funny and I got a popup from BT that my browser is no longer supported and I need to upgrade it to get the latest version of the mail programme back.

I already have the latest IE version installed anyway so the only option is to use Chrome or Firefox. I really don't want to stick with this very basic version of the email programme as it's just so, well, basic:(. I'm a bit fed up with other aspects of IE as well so it's probably a good time to change.
I'm the same as you CBC - win7 and IE, but so far, touch wood, not having problems, though I'm with T Talk so maybe that's the difference ?? I don't really understand it all I'm afraid.

I've £9.43 to add to my total for interest, weekly scans and surveys :j

Hope you all have a super Monday

ok so after posting in the wrong group! A small sale on eb@y again - approx £2 profit (don't remember the exact amount right now). Also had enough coins finally on receipt hog to cash out £5 to paypal :)
  • Thanks to everyone for the computer advice, I really appreciate it:A

Well done to all of you who've done well on the free lotteries. Lovely to see so many people we 'know' winning:j:T. Always worth the few moments it takes every day to check the results.

Thanks too for the comping advice, Aesop. I don't go shopping much these days apart from essentials:o so never see offers and comps in many shops. I'm desperate for some sandals so will visit Brantano, although my nearest is 20 miles away and I seem to remember hearing that the branch had closed:eek:. Could be wrong so will check. I've done well over the years for wins from my local daily newspaper, it usually involves a form to cut out, fill in and post off so maybe low entry;)

Aesop, sending belated hugs and some cake for your birthday:bdaycake:. Your freebies sound great, even though you said it was a 'rubbish' birthday:beer:

Commiserations on the car windscreen and insurance costs. I was surprised that my premium went up this year even though I haven't ever made a claim. Apparently, as well as passing on the tax or whatever it is that the government imposed on them, they are raising women's premiums more on a par with men as women are no longer classed as being safer drivers than men:eek:. Managed to negotiate a discount though.
