So You want a referendum ?
Then do it Properly or respect the views of the majority
Find a political party that will apply to re join Europe as a part of their manifesto ...If none will do it then form a single issue party ..perhaps called Not UKIP.
Then get 4 million to vote for them ..and only win one seat due to our first past the post system ..Then get a mainstream party to begrudgingly offer you a referendum at a time of their choosing ..in a format they pick and only the people they wish see as acceptable because they only way they can get elected is with your parties vote ...
Then and only then can you try and reduce the value of the result made in this last referendum by the majority
Perhaps you will now have a little more respect for why so many of us voted out ...we had earned it ..Such bad losers ..so disrespectful of Democracy ,,For the people signing this petition ..You should be ashamed at your behaviour0 -

You can't have it both ways, if democracy must be respected, then the result of a referendum can't really justify turning a blind eye to a shift in attitudes which migh follow the referendum.0 -
Could we make voting compulsory?. I doubt it would work as many people would 'fall off' the electoral role in order to avoid having to vote.
If you look at Australia for instance, they fine those who fail to vote something like A$1,000. However, it just means that they have an even larger number of spoilt papers to sift out of the vote at the counting stage.
Better to leave 'as-is' for now.Never Knowingly Understood.

Blind, largely misinformed voting on the basis of a campaign with no official leader and that consists of a motley assortment of lies that haven't been written down anywhere is hardly, I'd suggest, a shining example of the D word.FACT.0 -

Oh come on ..
You know it doesn't work like that ..
The decision has to be final otherwise why vote ..Remember when Brexit aired the notion that a vote out might be an opportunity to negotiate with a much stronger hand ..And the Remainers poo poo'd it .
We all knew at that point it was a vote to leave ..It was ..WE chose the option to leave ..Can you now move on ..This is becoming embarrassing act like an adult and deal with the world holding a different view to your own.0 -

And even with all that against it's chances of success WE did it ..we made the right choice0 -
Frankly if we could just somehow spin this out for a little longer then a very strong argument for a material change of circumstances justifying another vote would be that, entirely truthfully, a sufficiently large number of new non bigoted citizens of the modern world had been added to the voter base (and, I hardly need add, a sufficiently large number of the dinosaurs had become extinct, and not before time) that the vote no longer reflected the wishes of the population. If we don't serve notice till say January 2017 and a final split doesn't happen till January 2019 then that's the territory we'll very possibly be in.FACT.0

Blame the career driven ill informed political elite that have lost touch with the very people that they are supposed to represent. At National and EU level.0
