But I have to ask - there was a majority. At what point will the Remain camp accept that? It's just sour grapes to ask for another referendum. It would have been equally sour grapes if Leave had lost and petitioned for another referendum. This is democracy, suck it up :rotfl:
This B.S is Generation Snowflake plus a few !!!!ed off Eastern Europeans (quite a few I suppose, but they did let too many in) spitting the dummy. Absolute nonsense.0 -
According to the rules, if less than 75% of the eligable population voted, then the minimum result for a win should be 60%.
So there is a set of rules in place that in effect, makes the result of the EU referendum non-effective.Never Knowingly Understood.
Member #1 of £1,000 challenge - £13.74/ £1000 (that's 1.374%)

500k people petitioned to ban Trump from setting foot in this country it was debated in the commons but he still arrived yesterday (Friday).
Over a million? marched against the Iraq war, where did that get us? Remain lost, SUCK IT UP.0 -

Hardly dictatorship to make them put a cross on a piece of paper is it?
Its like saying people are forced to fill in their tax return - they have to do it or they get fined yet they still have a choice... Is that a dictatorship?0 -

Try telling EU central command that. They want us OUT pronto, before we infect their other prisoners. Too late now, just suck it up folks and move on.0 -

Thats my point, petitions, marches and protests don't work, we still bombed Syria despite mass protests against it.0 -

No, that is saying you are legally obliged to pay the taxes that support the infrastructure you benefit from. People don`t bother sending back census forms and registering to vote, nothing happens to them for the most part? People forced to vote would just spoil the ballot anyway.0 -

Agreed, this petition, if it is even genuine, is just something for the BBC to latch onto so they can pretend for a few days that it didn`t really happen. :rotfl:Sad really. The political machine is working right now to get us separated from the EZ, there is no going back. This will be the beginning of the end for the EZ, but they will strut and posture and try to be in control right to the end IMO.0 -
I'm not happy with the result, but all these petitions are rather silly and a case of sour grapes. The democratic process means sometimes you have to accept outcomes you don't like. I'm rather sick of all the doom merchants too who have bought into the hysteria. There are many successful countries that are not in the EU, including within Europe itself. It's a bit premature deciding what post-EU UK will look like, and what it's relationship with the EU will be. We have some difficult negotiations ahead, but I wouldn't be surprised if we end up much the same position as where we started, minus a seat at the table."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0
