The UK now has full employment. Unemployment for more than 12 months is just one percent (the 5% unemployment headline is mostly short term unemployment people unemployed for 1-26 weeks)

So the EU migrants the non EU migrants and the locals all have jobs and it looked likely that job creation would continue to run at very high rates.

Its surprising the stay side hardly mentioned this but then again lots of the leave side simply don't believe it and think most the country is on zero hour min wage jobs

There are a lot of people on zero hour contracts but we can deal with that nationally, doesn't require the EU. The wage supression is a real issue, over supply of labour will mean that wages will stagnate or at best grow at a very slow rate compared with the costs of living.

That is exactly what my wife and I were talking about that night, more of a free movement of labour (i.e. to an agreed job) rather than of people (looking for work). The funds to support yourself while looking is an interesting addition to what we were considering.

It's been a requirement in Canada for years, you are welcome to go live there after passing various tests and proving you can do a job that a Canadian company cannot fill, and taking 10k Canadian dollars. The assumption is that the money will keep you until you get a paying job or if you have a job to go to then the money is a fallback if needed .

Among other requirements is the language test. You must speak English or French to a certain level.
It's still a points based system but these hurdles are part of your points base. Along with age and being qualified in one of the (very comprehensive) jobs on a set list.
Carpenter's/electricians are more needed than hand car wash people
    63 mortgage payments to go.

    Zero wins 2016 😥

I think in the UK it would be that you must speak English to a certain level, but lose points for speaking French.

Only minority languages though, which wouldn't be likely to feature in any regulation. But if you can find me a Bulgarian immigrant who speaks Cornish, then I'll buy you a beer.

And if you can find me a Geordie who speaks English, I'll buy you one.
