The question I asked during the Scottish and British independence ballots was.....independence from who, for who, for what purpose?
Both ballots were a waste of time. Had they gone the other way what would have changed, how are circumstances improved or made worse with the results we have.
The results won't be of any more benefit to us whilst the main problem is unresolved. That problem is the weak economic situation we are still in. The international markets did not go mental because of crosses in ballot boxes..._0 -
Leave had 17m+ votes
Let us know when the petition reaches that.
Remain had 16 million + and that doesn't include the millions of EU citizens who live and work in this country but who were denied a vote because then remain would win. Nor the millions of UK citizens in other counties who mainly couldn't vote for the same reason. Oddly, fishermen and plumbers who have a massive financial incentive to vote leave were allowed (well the fishermen messed up royally there, but that's another post)
Let us know when leave remembers they exist. They are not going to just go away. Other things that won't go away - any problems you may have.
Oh yeah and how many votes did leave gain thanks to the "mistakes" and "misunderstandings" (admitted on national TV no less) that the UKIP party made.
I would say that the referendum was too close and given the damage it has already caused, more time is needed to assess the situation and more debate is needed to try and heal the wounds this sorry mess has caused. But never mind that, leave won a non binding, non mandatory referendum which no party (apart from UKIP I guess) promised to abide by! Lets rush into a thing that will almost certainly hurt the average UK worker and only benefit the
very people the leave campaign were trying to spite.0 -
Change brings out the best in us. That's why we will thrive - pure emotion, invention and drive, not graphs and IMF charts
Change is change, nothing more than that.
Dramatically changing the country for the worst to accommodate the racists, the jingoists and the deluded is not going to help anyone.0 -

My hunch is we will do a free trade deal that guarantees a certain number of EU citizens each year to be allowed into UK, and I think potentially we may form a power pact with Norway and Swotzerland in this regard.
I don't think the many independent nations with orderly points based border systems are racist.
Managed migration will bring benefits to your children such as in terms of housing planning0 -
As we said all along the worlds leaders are now getting behind Britains decision, because all want this to work as shared prosperity is in everyone's interest
Let's all put our energies into making Brtiain the best place on earth to do business0 -

I'm not sure why that is relevant although perhaps you are suggesting that London should position itself as the capital of scotland and they should leave the UK together?0 -

Good luck with that with about ten years of trade negotiations ahead of us (and that is a best case). The EU on the other hand already has deals in place with many countries and has the clout to stand up to the big boys. Not only that, labor costs are cheaper and it has nicer weather.
Maybe if the referendum had included a question on restoring the empire this might have worked.
But don't worry, I am sure that the US and China are just gonna give us everything we ask for and won't expect anything in return (if you want a real bogeyman, google TTIP that will damage the UK far more than the EU has ever done.*) I am sure the EU will just bowl over and hand over access to the single market with no strings attached.
People in the UK need to understand that companies will put companies first, not the UK public.
I thought voting leave was supposed to prevent British jobs going to foreigners?0
