OK, we have voted now. I have an idea, why don't we write an open letter to the rest of the EU, and other countries, and tell them we are going to restart the Common Market. The founding principal will be free trade between the nations involved (without restricting trade outside, individual countries will still be able to have their own trade deals with other countries). Nothing else, no political unity, no need for two parliaments, no need for a president or anything else, simply free trade. Maybe a few of them will decide to jump ship and join us.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

Sounds much like what we thought was on offer in the first referendum.

Could it last, or would someone have ... a vision?

I have to admit that I thought the result would go the other way and that if it were close a large numer of Brexit suporters would be looking to reject the result or press for a repeat ballot.

I also thought that the remain side would be more sanguine and accept the democratic mandate.

Juding by the large numebr of threads on this board rejecting the result, claiming that those who voted for Brexit were both mi-informed and stupid and generally suggesting they are takign their ball home and no-one else can play football anymore then the UK is just a country of whinging bad losers.
    I think....

I accept the result but since then I have been observing a constant stream of racial attacks, racist slurs being graffiitied in public spaces and homes, and having had many educated, hard working, friends of mine racially attacked in London, I think the result has brought up a very ugly side of society, primarily a lot of teethless uneducated people shouting at the hard working people who pay their benefits.

And for that, I think a lot of other Brexiters should take a very long hard look at themselves and decide if what is happening right now is what they had envisioned in the first place

Let's put aside for a moment who 'won' and who 'lost' (I think we all lost btw), do you think the general public was well informed? Really?
Don't blame me, I voted Remain.

There are unpleasant racists that exist in our society that come out from time to time. We see it associated with elections, terrorist attacks, football matches, events in Rotherham and other newsworthy events.

To suggest we should suspend democracy because of the actions of a few unpleasant people is quite revolting.
You should be ashamed of your mindless accusations against decent people who simply disagree with you about the EU.

Think the bremainers need to take all the responsibility of the kerfuffle, if you had made a good valid argument you wouldnt be in this situation. You are to blame as much as anyone else. Now go find that mirror.

So you don't blame the person who stabbed you with the knife, but you blame whoever didn't give a compelling argument against your stabbing.
That argument can give a person brain haemorrhage. If I ever needed any proof that Brexiters are devoid of any sort of common sense, this is it.

I think they could have been, the truth was out there before voting day.

This is a great site, a charity devoted to the facts:
    https://fullfact.org/europe/membership-fee-eu/

Plus people were doing their bit to educate:

But, this country is utterly rammed with people who don't seek out knowledge. Today all my brexit friends have been copying and pasting the hoax email about facebook making everything they own public. No capacity to think for themselves. 5 seconds on google proves it's lies, just like the majority of the leave campaign as detailed above, but that's obviously too much effort - http://www.snopes.com/computer/facebook/privacy.asp

    oh dear
so you generalise the intelligence of one person to half the country.
I think that make you rather foolish but I don't generalise that to other 'remainers'.
