Oh thanks for mentioning this. I missed this being mentioned at the weekend. This is really close to me. I spend far too much on wool and this site looks good. I do like the Sublime stuff it is ... well... sublime:o
Attacked the kids bedroom this morning, DD wasn't too bad. Usually she gets things out faster than I put them away. But I managed to keep one step ahead.
DH away for a couple of nights - aa peace:D . Ive changed the bed in anticipation of snuggling down as soon as Nigella is finished tonight. Mmm.
(What's the betting the kids decide not to sleep tonight! )
Happy birthday Pen Pin.
Right - where's that wool shop!;)"You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Lewis0 -
Afternoon all
Happy Birthday to PP, hope you have a lovely day!
((Hugs to anyone who needs them today))
Took the car for its MOT this morning and surprise surprise it didn't pass so it needs all new tyres and the headlamp bulbs replacing so thats kind of thrown the savings a bit out this month - grrr! Oh well, thats life i suppose
B - toast and juice for DD, nothing for DP (feeling a bit under the weather) and tea for me
D - DD at school, sandwich for DP (working at home today), noodles for me
T - anything that i can find in the back of the freezer!
Been ill for the past few days so didn't get round to doing a cook-up for the freezer, going to try and get some done this week, and after reading through the slow cooker thread i am going to dig mine out and have a go (only ever cooked rice pudding in it!). Even though i don't work it will be handy to be able to prepare tea in the morning whilst my hands are still able to peel and chop things as by teatime some days i can barely hold my fork lol.
Off to put another load of washing out now, it a lovely sunny day with a good wind, makes drying washing so much easier than having things draped all over the house!
Take care all

Hi all!
Happy Birthday PP!
I have to say, it's not been a great one for me:o I've had earache the past couple of days, and it got really bad yestday - I had about 3 hours sleep last night, so took myself off down the Drs this morning...to be told I have an abcess in my ear! Nothing they can really do, I have antibiotics, but I have to just wait til it decides to pop. In the meantime, I'm in agony and very very tired. I think I must be pre-disposed to them - since April 06 I've had: one dental abcess - which resulted in a root canal and crown, two pilonidal abcesses - the second of which took 5 months, 2 weeks, and 2 days of daily dressing changes before it was healed (meant to take 6-8 weeks!), and now this!
I'm meant to cook dinner (tuna pasta) and knock up a rubarb crumble tonight....and for the first time ever, I really don't want to cook tonight - I'm so tired and miserable, I could murder a chinese take-away...MUST STAY STRONG lol.
Hope your all fairing better than me! Proud DFW Nerd 135 :cool:Sealed Pot Challenge - 0190 -
Afternoon all!
Happy Birthday, Pen-Pin - hope you have a lovely day! :bdaycake:
Not a lot of OS going on here today. Freezer is looking full of homemade ready meals after the efforts of the last few days (and we popped 4 portions of leftover veggie curry in there last night after cooking it for dinner). Have got a couple of washloads to do, so will push those through the machine, but apart from that I think I will concentrate on work - I am officially "working from home" at the moment for the next few weeks...some days they hardly give me anything to do, but other days (like today!) they keep me pretty busy, so I have to spend the day dashing backwards and forward to the work laptop to keep an eye on my e-mails!!
Am toying with the idea of making some pea and ham soup later...but if it doesn't get done today, I can always give it a go tomorrow.:rotfl:
Hope everyone has a good afternoon - hugs to all who want/need one:grouphug: ...please help yourself!

laurajayne,
you are a stronger woman than me, you must be feelin so rough, any hint of a sniffle and I send OH out to get me a curry,
.
Is there anyone else who can cook tonight?
Sending hugs to make you feel better x0 -
Officially k*******d I have made a lemon meringue pie for tomorrow night, its in the oven, used the romuksa to cook the flan base, it did it brilliantly, I put teasp of cornflour in with the meringue, in the oven for 1hr at 300 and then turn off the oven and leave it in until tomorrow morning. This only works in electric ovens because they cool down slower than gas. Gives you a nice crispy meringue................
A loaf in the bread maker and towels washed and dried, was going to do some ironing but it can wait. OH had one of his dizzy spells at lunch time so has spent an hour in bed, its gone off now........Eggs cooked for egg mayo and salad prepared and in the frdige.........so thats me for today....
Spent an hour this afternoon on my friends birthday present, its taking time but getting there......should have it finished well in time as long as nothing goes wrong.
The sun is belting down, but the wind is still quite strong, a nice afternoon if you have time to be out.September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

Back from work , and I actually had to do some!! Normally I take a few weeks to settle in , but we've been really busy! It was quite a shock!
There is a new head librarian who is making BIG changes and we had to clear out aload of stock. Still, I figured it will be good for the weight loss as I've sweated buckets!
To all those of you who are doing well on the campaign ~ WELL DONE:j
