Nicky I'm the same, feel like I'm rubber-necking some kind of accident...

Not feeling productive. All I've done really is tidy round, pack for tonight and get DD repeat prescription form in. Oh, and tidied my inbox into two piles, but not actually sorted any of it other than chucking envelopes in the recycling. Desk looks tidier,

I wonder if subconsciously I'm making the most of the peace and quiet before the demolition starts, lol. I really need to get a shower and do my hair too - supposed to be out tonight, and I don't know if DD is needed for dance rehearsal or just tomorrow.

Still, it'll all come together in the end...

Oh Dizzy have some Yorkshire coping vibes. I agree though some kind of floating home might be a good idea for you as you seem to have a lot of issues with water. Either that or move to the Sahara Desert.

Bossy put your feet up a bit, no reason why you shouldnt. Before I started my current job(s) I had the summer hols off with the kids and I am so glad I made the most of it. The boys were 12 and 14 so they were just young enough to still want to do things with me. Happy memories.

And Pigpen Scotland? Wow big changes for you, so long as it isnt some remote island where they dont have internet. Wouldnt want to lose you.

I am supposed to be working. I dont want to work. Sigh. However this doesnt pay the bills .......

My bathroom is disgusting :( Upstairs has little bits everywhere so needs vacuuming, the floor in the bathroom which is supposed to be white is covered in black wet foot print type marks, and they've not been able to completely sort the side of the bath out as it needs plastic strips (like they use on windows) to cover up the edges where its away from the wall. Now I've got to wait on the builder coming to put it right, and he has a habit of just showing up when he feels like it :( I forsee binbags and duck tape being used to cover the exposed wood over the weekend just to be safe.

Anyway I best get on with work. DD is already on her way home.

    The plot thickens!

DD usually has her books changed on a Monday (which precipitated the whole debacle this week) so we handed one back (wrong level) and were given another of the correct, plus she was invited to choose a free book from the story shelf, for extra interest.
I've collected her today, and they've moved her up a level
Yet was told she's not reading fluently!
What the heck do I make of that, then?

Bossy are you happy that your Dd is reading confidently. Ie can sound out the words by blending them and understand what they mean in their context. If you are I really wouldn't worry.
The teacher has either been spoken to and just trying to damage limitation from what she said or has some other weird agenda, keep diary of what's said and things like homework comments and book swaps just in case you need them in the future to back up any other issues. Put. Note in the reading diary querying the move up and ask them to clarify what wasn't being read properly.

Been on a school trip all day and had glorious weather, just got off the coach to heavy rain.

    Better go and do something

Thanks Mrs MP I'm keeping notes. To be honest, I really don't care what level she's at - she loves reading which is the most important thing. What I do care about is that her early years profile assessment is accurate.

I honestly think now that teach got her mixed up with another child. She shouldn't be doing their assessments.

Early dinner made, shower had, and we are heading out soon-ish when I'm dry / dressed :)

I once had a report where pages read like my son and other subjects seemed to be describing a different child. It was only when I actually spotted another child's name on one of the subject pages it clicked. We tried to tell the teacher the next day but she was adamant there wasn't a problem so a group of parents ended up playing swappsies with various pages in the playground till the school got annoyed enough to reissue the reports.

Back home after a ghastly journey down the M6 with a looooooong detour via Warrington - but we had a lovely day with our friends, so well worth the effort.

I must do the freezer inventory tonight, 'cos I need to go shopping after I've dropped DH off to play trains at 8.00

Finally got my book out to customers :o While DD did most of them I did a delivery then went to see the landlady. I showed her pictures of the bath, then explained some of the tiles are damaged so she's told me that we can tile both outside walls however I want. I just need to find the stuff, price it up and then let her know. :j Its going to make a huge difference in the bathroom. Now I just need to work out what I want...off to have a mooch around a certain pinning site ;) I'm sure I can find an art deco type look which is modern but not expensive that will be in keeping with the 1930s house :D

Tomorrow I need to clean. I got a major whiff of dog when I got in earlier. He needs grooming and then the place needs a really good clean.
