Apologies in advance - am very much a newbie when it comes to online banking!
Am expecting a payment into one of my Halifax 'Liquid Gold' accounts tomorrow - does anyone know what time (presumably the early hours) this payment would be viewable online?

It's my state pension (DWP) presumably via BACS?
Normally I collect in person (with passbook) in a Halifax branch and it's there on a Monday.0 -
It will be processed on the overnight run and be seen on your internet banking when you first log in, in the morning.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. It MAY be available to view around midnight.
Back in the days before Internet banking, my friend used to go to an ATM at midnight to check that she'd been paid.
I suppose the answer is to stay up tonight and keep checking until it goes in.
But it'd probably be easier to look when you get up tomorrow.
Ps.... You can also use your online banking to check the interest rate you are getting on your Liquid Gold - it's likely to be peanuts. You can use online banking to renew your account to the current interest rate for immediate access accounts, but I think it's only 0.6%. You can do better elsewhere.Early retired - 18th December 2014

You cant re des from a liquid gold online, you can open a new product and then go into a branch to close and transfer funds. Liquid gold is a passbook account which is transacted in branch.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards. Just checked my Halifax online and both my Liquid Gold accounts are shown and am able to view balances and all recent payments in and out relating to both (as well as my current account) Also gives me the option should I so wish to tranfer from those to the current account.
Not quite sure what 're des' means.0 -
Not quite sure what 're des' means.
re-des is to convert the product to a different product whilst keeping your original sort code and account number.
eg - liquid gold account becomes an 'Online Saver' account but sort code and account number don't change.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. I have redesignated a passbook account in the past, to an online saver. I wouldn't have bothered to go into a branch for this sort of thing, and the system allowed me to do it online
I must admit I was quite surprised, as I thought they'd need to update the passbook and mark it up as closed etc.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Now it's viewed online re-designating the account may be worth looking at for you, depending how long you leave the money in there and if the interest rate is something you would like to have increased.Goldiegirl wrote: »I have redesignated a passbook account in the past, to an online saver.
Does it give you the option to 'renew' the account within the 'more actions' link?
They may be moving with the times to allow this with all passbooks, you never know until you try
