- 15 a month for line rental and broadband.
TV with a 1TB Q box at
- 7.56 for original,
- 10.56 for variety,
- 12.56 for the box sets etc package.
Also offered a 5 a month sim only package for unlimited calls and texts with 1gb data. Does this seem resaonble or should I be looking for less than this? Only ever used freeview, I'm only an exisiting broadband and line rental customer. New contract lasting 12 months.
Thanks!
If you'll watch and use the Sky box I'd say that's a good deal, I'd certainly take it myself.0 -
Just spent 2 hours on the phone to Sky on behalf of my grandad.
Sky customer for 17 years!!! Still is using a Sky Digibox. Currently pays around £92 per month for Standard (not HD) Sky Core Package & Sports and Broadband at £10 per month, plus £4 evening & weekend calls. Box has been having signal issues - what you'd expect from an antique!!
First offer through tehnical team - replace box for £60, then 2nd offer £30 - REFUSED.
Second offer - £64.99 per month (£8 anytime calls (worked out cheaper as grandad was calling pre 7pm) £20 sports (7.50 discount) 18 core (2.50 discount) Free reconditioned sky plus box. Broadband £5 per month discounted.
Third offer - £61.99 per month - same as above.
So i refused and cancelled the service - what is the next steps? Wait for a 50% off phone call?0 -

Now I know why I haven't been able to get through
I'd try again via live chat or phone or just check his account via the Sky app. You can check via the box itself normally but obviously not on the one he's got right now.
I'll try the phone again myself after I've finished my tea :cool:0 -

Haha - sorry! I got straight through due to his VIP membership apparently!
Thanks for the advice!0 -
We upgraded to full TV package and got 50% off for 12 months.
We would like to upgrade to SkyQ BUT that's on a 18 month contract, so when the 50% is up in 12 months we'll have to pay full wack for 6 months it seems??0 -

You can cancel your TV package penalty free when they increase their prices. You will then find that sky will offer you at least 50% off. You will probably see that they increase their prices during Q1/Q2 next year.l0 -
been onto sky today as a platinum 13 year customer.
Ive got the original Sky+ HD box from 11 years ago thats failing on a daily basis plus a 2nd old sky plus box.
Currently on variety bundle with sky sports pack and im paying £71.50 a month with a second box.
Spoke to retentions told them i want to upgrade my package to box sets, sports, sports hd pack, with Sky Q 2tb and a second Q box after id spoken to the live chat team yesterday. the live chat had offered exactly what i want for £65 a month with £70 one off fee for the boxes and told that if i wasnt happy with the price to speak to the cancellations team and they would reduce it.
Retentions said theres nothing they can do with Sky Q and didnt even give me the option to take it!
They tried any way possible of getting me to reduce the content in the package, which i didnt want, and then came up with that the best they could do was £59.85 a month, only a 16% saving!
Needless to say i didnt take it, im checking other options but think i will be cancelling later this evening0 -

Only once you cancel will you get better offers in my experience. Call them every day and take an offer your happy with. 60% seems to be the going rate"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

More disappointing is my LR is still discounted to £17.40 from last March when the price rises hit but the ADSL has gone from free to a partial payment (presumably £10 in January). I was under the impression the discounted LR would have extended the BB discount too but apparently not. Looks like I'm back in the dance again early.
After multiple tries on the phone ('We are extremely busy, phone back' or at best 'There is a 40 minute wait time') I tried the 'Message us' option on the My Sky app where they try to reply within 30 minutes. It only took 4 hours and 59 minutes for a reply to my original post...
Live chat appears to have disappeared up it's own behind.
According to them my BB should go back to 'free' when my TV package discount runs out in December and it should show on my account in November. Hmmm, a slight sniff of 'how do I get rid of him quickly' but I'll hold fire yet. Then again perhaps a letter to Edinburgh is in order anyway due to their inaccessibility by any other means.
Edit: She did say that she couldn't help me with the price increase in December although that's not what I asked anyway, so don't bother with the app for negotiating discounts.0 -
Cancelled my subscription, got 30% through the my sky account page. Should I hold off for more?0
