just about to come off 60%tv discount and was offered 50% discount on tv package if I sign up for 18 months. only offered broadband (ADSL) which if fine for my usage for £5. its been free for last 4 years or so. no discount on line rental

Going to give 31 days notice in next 10 days

You don't have to wait to give notice to the exact 31 days, i.e i've given notice and my service is due to cease on 3rd September when my current offers finish, that's over 60 days notice i've given.

Have you had your cancellation acknowledged in writing (or email)?
I only ask because in the past, others have said that Sky CS have refused to accept an early cancellation notice, and have been told to ring back at 31 days!!

I cancelled with at least a couple of months to go back in December despite various posters saying it's not possible.

I suspect that agents tell people this because it affects their retention stats and possible monthly bonus (and even their jobs). They're basically just passing it on to someone else down the line.

Yeah, got the email with the confirmation date. As the previous reply the agents are driven on retention stats, hence why they will tell porkies.

I only have the original bundle £20.

I have my fibre with plusnet.

    The offer so far:

    50% 12m £10

    Fibre 18m £2.50 off

    Line rental £9.99

    Total: £47.49

Told them to cancel it. Missed three calls so far. Just the 50% showing online at the moment.

So it gets cut off tomorrow. We got offered 60% for 12m but that went as quick as it came.

I'm hoping for 75% but I'm starting to think it's not going to come!

75% usually only comes after cut off not before. And sometimes a few weeks after as well.

Why are you insulted? (Unless you made a significant typo??)

You won't beat that no matter how good a deal the competition offers you and you used a cashback site.
Bite their hand off before its off the table!

(3 years as a customer doesn't really count for too much these days)

I'm assuming the meant they had been offered a reduction of £5.70 rather than that was the package price.

All they need to do is read the advice given many many times on this thread to actually cancel. And also understand that a discount is in theory goodwill on behalf of Sky, and not an entitlement.
