You need to have patience and remain switched off for at least a number of days. (It's not fatal and encourages you to explore previously ignored Freeview or Freesat channels, depending on your input.)
  • wow that is good, who is that with? is b/band fibre?

Sky and ASDL with a speed of 18MB. Just wonderful.
  • Another update, on Broadband phone and calls deal I've secured.

Got line rental for £8.70, BB unlimited(Fibre) for £12.50 and £8 anytime calls, plus £75 credit applied.(started at £50 but I pushed for 100, settled at 75)

Works out at £22.95 a month which is almost as good as the best BT deal i could find, so quite happy.

Can I ask what method you used to contact them and what you said? I only ask because I recently got a free line rental deal for myself, but tried for my in laws and got told they had no line rental offers! Don't know if it's pot luck or depends on the staff member you get through to!

Just a quick question about my sky account...

My first bill was created on the 21st Jan 2016 & shows for the period 4th Feb to 10th Feb this was my first bill on the account. Does this mean my subscription contract is up on the 4th Feb 2017?

Actually February 3rd, assuming 4th was the first day of your service.

Do you mean February 2018,as this was your first bill ?

Do you live next door to the exchange ?:p

We are a mile, as the crow flies from our exchange yet got up to 6.3 with Sky and now up to just 5.3 (if very lucky) with PlusNet.

We're moving at some time this year and that's going to be a real bugbear for me. We're presently 550m in a direct line from the exchange and have always got between 18 and 19 Mbps for literally years. I suspect I'm going to have to upgrade to fibre at some point just to keep a decent speed.

I did all the negotiating using the online chat service.Im not so embarrased to ask cheeky questions then, i.e., if you offer £100 credit then I'll accept etc!!

Ive just had a call back to discuss what they can offer me to stay with Sky for unlimited broadband (we don't need fibre unlimited as just one TV). Best they could do was reduce BB to £2.50 and line rental £17.40. We still have 12 months of international calls at £8 /m so don't really want to go elsewhere. How on earth do you get offers of free line rental, credit etc when they say they can't do more? I'm currently in the notice period to cancel TV but not so easy to cancel BB.
