Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

Ive just had a call back to discuss what they can offer me to stay with Sky for unlimited broadband (we don't need fibre unlimited as just one TV). Best they could do was reduce BB to £2.50 and line rental £17.40. We still have 12 months of international calls at £8 /m so don't really want to go elsewhere. How on earth do you get offers of free line rental, credit etc when they say they can't do more? I'm currently in the notice period to cancel TV but not so easy to cancel BB.
If you still have 12 months of international calls would you not still have line rental for a while or was it a much longer contract for the calls package? I'm guessing they're using that as they won't expect you to throw it away.0 -
I'm going to do the cancelling thing.
In the 'My Package' section I can see how much I am paying in total. Is there a way of seeing it broken down into individual costs?I enjoy a pint of beer each night for it's health benefits. The other pints are for my witty comebacks and flawless dance moves.0 -

Click on 'my bill' and it'll be in there (I'm at work so this is from memory).0 -

So when I'm cancelling, I should just cancel my TV and then tackle the Phone and BB at a later date?I enjoy a pint of beer each night for it's health benefits. The other pints are for my witty comebacks and flawless dance moves.0

Sadly it seems to be pot luck at the moment. I was able to get free line rental for myself with ease, then I tried exactly the same tactic for my in laws and got the same offer you had. Though I did get the feeling they weren't been honest when they said that was the best deal they had.0 -
Thats what I did and it worked for me. I dont think you get anything extra by doing them both at the same time, It just seemed to show what they can offer, i.e. tv was NO to account credit, but phone and bb offered before i even asked!(all on online chat!)0

That sounds like the guy I chatted with on live chat, I told him I'd had a 50% offer on the service app and he immediately offered 60%. It was like he was bidding against a rival service :rotfl:
He also offered the £50 credit without being prompted.0 -
Tried the last few days on live chat and have only been offered 50% discount, no credit.
No budging at all0 -
